Cronos: The New Dawn: Stash Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Stash Boxes are the shared item storage terminals in every Traveler's Outpost in Cronos: The New Dawn — green-lit containers that hold anything the Traveler can't or doesn't want to carry through hostile territory.

Every Stash location across all 24 hand-drawn areas is marked at exact coordinates on the Cronos: The New Dawn interactive maps.

How Stash Boxes Work

All Stash Boxes share the same inventory. An item placed in the Stash at Block 34 Outpost is immediately retrievable from the Stash at Unity Hospital, The Abbey, or The Clocktower.

There is no per-location storage — the Stash is a single shared pool accessible from every safe room in the game. Items placed into the Stash carry over between areas and persist through the entire campaign.

No item can be dropped in the field. The Traveler cannot discard inventory items mid-exploration. The only ways to free a full inventory slot away from a safe room are to consume a Shell Patch or fire a Pyre mine to remove it from inventory.

Every other unwanted item must be physically carried back to the nearest Stash. This makes Stash location knowledge essential — knowing where the nearest box is determines whether an unexpected pickup can be taken or must be left behind.

Items in the Stash cannot be sorted. The Stash displays items in the order they were stored, with no organisation or sorting option.

Plan deposits deliberately — frequently accessed items are easier to manage if stored last.

What to Put in the Stash

Three categories of items are best stored rather than carried:

  • Cores — the primary item to stash. Cores take up standard inventory slots until used at a Workstation. If inventory is full and a Core cannot be picked up, deposit others at the nearest Stash to make room. Never leave a Core behind.

  • Valuables — Cameras, Energy Banks, Fan Heaters, and Game Consoles occupy inventory slots until sold at a Workstation for Energy. Store them and sell in bulk at the next Outpost rather than carrying multiple Valuables through combat.

  • Key Items used later — items like the Chalice (needed for the Unity Hospital chapel puzzle) can be stored safely and retrieved from any subsequent Stash. Placing them in storage frees a slot for exploration without risking losing access to them.

Three Gated Stash Boxes

Every Stash Box is accessible as soon as its Traveler's Outpost is reached — except three:

  • The Terminal — becomes available only after triggering the Ascendance Sequence cutscene. Before that story point, the Stash cannot be used even if the room is physically entered.

  • The Underground Station — located past the Locked Shop Door, on the left after descending the stairs. Requires the Shop Door key before the Outpost is accessible.

  • The Catacombs — inside the safe hub past the Locked Door. Requires the relevant key before the hub can be entered.

Two Stash Boxes in Unity Hospital

Unity Hospital is the only area with two Stash Boxes — one inside the chapel room at the main Traveler's Outpost, and a second positioned directly next to the boss fight entrance door.

The second Stash serves a specific function: deposit everything non-essential immediately before the boss encounter to carry only healing items, ammo, and key items into the fight. It's the most tactically placed Stash in the game.
