Cronos: The New Dawn: Workstation Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

The Workstation is the upgrade terminal found in every Traveler's Outpost throughout Cronos: The New Dawn. It's the only place where The Traveler can permanently strengthen their Temporal Shell and arsenal — making it one of the most important mechanics in the entire game.

There are 22 Workstations in total, and this guide covers every single one with exact locations and an interactive completion tracker.

What Is a Workstation and How Does It Work?

Every Workstation safe hub also contains a Save Station, a Stash box, and a Core dispenser — and often a supply of Ammo, Shell Patches, Torch Fuel, and Crafting Materials. The terminal itself has two functions:

  • A shop tab where you can buy resources, craft ammo, and sell Valuables for Energy. Note: buying ammo directly is priced per bullet and extremely expensive — always craft it from materials instead.

  • An upgrades tab where you spend Cores and Energy on permanent improvements to your suit and Weapons.

Essences extracted from Fallen Travelers also slot in here, providing passive bonuses that can influence which upgrades are worth prioritizing.

Keep in mind that Key Items like the Bolt Cutters take up inventory slots too — another reason to prioritize carrying capacity early.

What to Upgrade First at the Workstation

Suit upgrades (Inventory Slots, Suit Integrity, Resource Limit) cost Cores and are permanent — they cannot be refunded. Weapon upgrades (Firepower, Charge Speed, Stability, Clip Size) cost Energy only and can be fully Respecced at any terminal. Here's the upgrade priority order we recommend:

  • Inventory Slots first. You start with just 6 slots — barely enough for two weapons, their ammo, a fuel canister, and a healing item. Upgrade this before anything else.

  • Charge Speed on your Sword (handgun). Charged shots are the core of every combat encounter. Faster charge time is the single most impactful weapon upgrade in the game.

  • Firepower on your handgun. Even a single upgrade lets you one-shot the weakest Orphans with a charged headshot, saving significant ammo over time.

  • Suit Integrity second. Once inventory isn't throttling you, extra health gives the margin for error you need against aggressive Unmerged enemies.

All 22 Workstation Locations in Cronos: The New Dawn

Workstations appear in the following areas. Most are on the critical path, but a few require extra exploration or story progression to access:

Traveler's Outpost (Early Game)

The first Workstations appear in the Pharmacy, Tailor's Shop, The Underground Station (past the Locked Shop Door — easy to miss), and Quarantined Building.

Check nearby rooms for Travelogs, Recordings, and Comic Books — safe hubs are usually surrounded by collectibles.

The Outpost Network (Mid Game)

Workstations continue through Block 34 Outpost, The Moonshine Den, The Sarcophagus, Station A, Tram Station, The Isolation Zone, Cauldron Control Room, A-0 Gate, and Anomaly-Torn Building.

This stretch of the game is where Suit Integrity and Resource Limit upgrades start pulling their weight. Keep an eye out for Files and Cats nearby — some cats drop Cores, which means more upgrade opportunities.

Hospital & Beyond (Late Mid Game)

Unity Hospital, Station B, The Outskirts, The Abbey, and ND-1410's Outpost each contain a Workstation.

By this point, your weapon loadout should be largely settled — use the Respec option freely to funnel Energy into whichever guns are carrying you.

Endgame

The final Workstations are found in The Catacombs, Pathfinder's Outpost, The Terminal (unlocks after the Ascendance Sequence — don't panic if it's missing on your first visit), and the Clocktower.

These are your last chances to spend remaining Cores before the endgame, so don't go in under-upgraded.

Use the interactive checklist below to tick off every Workstation as you go — progress saves automatically across sessions.
