Crimson Desert Sealed Abyss Artifacts are the 141 collectibles required for 100% completion — the Platinum trophy on PlayStation and 1000 Gamerscore on Xbox.

Every one of these polygonal objects sits on a stone altar or roadside shrine across Pywel's five regions and is tied directly to a specific Challenge.

What are Sealed Abyss Artifacts?

Sealed Abyss Artifacts are described in-game as fragments of the Abyss that fell from the skies.

Unlike the standard Abyss Artifacts you earn by defeating enemies or solving puzzles, Sealed Abyss Artifacts are physical objects placed in the open world, and each one is tied directly to a specific Challenge.

Challenges span every activity in the game — Sword, Spear, Shield, Bow, Mace, Horse, Hunting, Fishing, Crafting, and more — and completing every one is required for the full trophy/achievement set.

The Most Important Rule: Collect Early

Challenge progress only counts after finding the associated Sealed Abyss Artifact. Anything done prior to unlocking a challenge will not count.

One exception is cumulative challenges, which sometimes track retroactively — but one-off combat requirements won't count retroactively.

If you spend 50 hours doing the main story before collecting Sealed Abyss Artifacts, all of that challenge-eligible activity is wasted.

Collect them as early as possible — ideally in the first few hours of each new region.

How to Find Sealed Abyss Artifacts

Sealed Abyss Artifacts are not visible on the main world map. They appear as purple icons on the minimap when nearby.

The detection radius is roughly 50–80 metres. To spot them at range, activate Guiding Light (L1+R1 / LB+RB / CTRL+Left Click) — the blue glimmer it produces is visible before the minimap icon even appears. Use it constantly while riding along roads.

Every artifact sits near a road — usually a few metres off the path, on a flat rock, behind a hedge, or at a crossroads shrine.

If you don't see one where it should be, look up — many are perched on cliff edges or rooftops accessible only with Aerial Maneuver or Force Palm.

After gaining Force Palm in Chapter 1 and Aerial Maneuver, over 95% of all artifacts become reachable.

Recommended Collection Order

The most efficient approach is to unfog the map first by activating all 8 hidden bells and grabbing fast travel points along the way.

The full road network only becomes visible after the fog of war is cleared — and since every artifact sits on a road, seeing the road network is essential for planning your route.

One important pitfall: liberating watchtowers before grabbing the artifact tied to a watchtower-related challenge can make those challenges missable.

Claiming Rewards After Challenge Completion

Completing a challenge doesn't automatically deliver its reward. After the challenge objective is met, open your inventory, locate the artifact (it will be flashing), and select it to claim.

Rewards include standard Abyss Artifacts (skill points for skill tree upgrades), Faded Abyss Artifacts (skill reset currency), and Abyss Gears (weapon and armor mods).
