Crimson Desert: Confessional Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

In Crimson Desert, the law doesn't forget — it just waits for you to pay. Confessionals are the only way to voluntarily clear a Wanted status, and MapMaster has pinned all 8 across Pywel — 3 in Hernand, 4 in Demeniss, and 1 in Pailune.

The Critical Thing Most Players Miss

You don't need to travel to the region where you committed the crime. Any Confessional in Pywel can clear any region's bounty instantly.

Rack up a bounty in the Crimson Desert, pay it off at Alfred's Church in Hernand — the system doesn't care where you confess, only that you pay.

How the Wanted System Works

Every crime follows the same four-stage sequence: Crime Committed → Spotted → Searching → Arrest.

The key rule: if you escape the red zone on your minimap before any witness spots you, no bounty is issued.

The crime still costs 5 Contribution Points, but you walk away clean. The Contribution Point penalty is unavoidable regardless of detection, but bounties only activate when a witness sees you inside the red circle.

Bounties are tracked separately per region.

Being Wanted in Hernand means you can still operate freely in Demeniss. Guards only pursue you in the region where you have an active bounty.

Buying a Writ of Absolution

Inside any Confessional, speak to the church representative and select "Buy Writ of Absolution."

The interface shows all your active bounties across every region — you can selectively clear individual regions without paying everything at once.

The cost matches your current bounty level exactly, with no markup or additional fee.

Fines vs Bounties — Two Separate Systems

Tax Collector fines are separate from the Wanted status. These are issued when you receive money illegally — selling stolen goods, for example — and lock you out of the bank until you pay a flat 50-silver fee.

A fine does not make you a Wanted person, so guards won't pursue you. But you can't deposit Gold Bars or invest until it's cleared.

If you can't pay, surrender to the guards without resisting the arrest prompt, and you'll serve jail time.

Your bounty clears on release, but any silver you had will be deducted to cover it. If jail time is short and your funds are solid, surrendering can save money since you avoid the Writ fee entirely.

Arrive completely broke, and you enter Silver Debt — a portion of all future earnings is automatically docked until the balance is covered.

What Confessionals Also Sell

Every priest doubles as a vendor.

Alfred at the Church of Hernand sells Small Bag (50 Copper), Holy Water (3 Silver), and the exclusive St. Halssius Visitor Pass (10 Silver) — not available from other Confessional vendors.

Eustace at the Church of Calphade and Lucianus in West Hernand both stock Small Bags and Holy Water.

All 8 Confessional locations are pinned on the Hernand interactive map (Alfred, Eustace, Lucianus), Demeniss region map (Church of Solumen and three others), and Pailune guide map, with vendor inventories and priest names in the checklist below.
