Crimson Desert: Back Alley Shop Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

There are 13 Back Alley Shops in Crimson Desert — underground vendors scattered across Pywel's five regions that operate outside the standard economy.

They serve two functions: selling criminal tools you can't get from legitimate merchants, and buying stolen goods that normal vendors refuse to accept.

Once you discover one, it appears on your map as a red circle with a mask symbol. Every location is pinned across MapMaster's region maps linked from the Crimson Desert 100% completion hub.

What Back Alley Shops Sell

Every shop stocks the same core criminal toolkit:

  • Mask — 10 Copper. Wearing a mask is mandatory to steal and pickpocket items. Equip it before entering a restricted area. Any standard mask works — it simply hides your identity from NPC witnesses.
  • Key — 30 Copper. Required to open locked doors in manors, estates, and vaults. Each vendor sells only 3 Keys per in-game day. To stock up quickly, fast travel between multiple Back Alley Shops — each one has its own independent restock limit.
  • Disguise Cloak — 20.88 Silver. Full-body concealment for extended infiltration.
  • Camouflage Outfit — 23.74 Silver. Alternative disguise option.
  • Azurite — 5 Silver. Useful for Accessory refinement.
  • Fine Fishing Rod Blueprint — 10 Silver.
  • Ammunition — Arrows (4 Copper), Bullets (6 Copper), Small Cannonballs (30 Copper).
  • Provisions — Bread, Dried Fish, Jerky, Water.

Individual shops carry additional exclusive stock.

Grimrak's Hernand Back Alley Shop also sells the Wind Slash Abyss Gear (27.34 Silver) and Poison Arrow Blueprint (10 Silver).

The Thalwynd Back Alley Shop stocks the Piercing Bloom (27.34 Silver) and Explosive Arrows (6 Silver). Full per-shop inventory is listed in the checklist below.

Selling Stolen Goods

Items acquired through theft or pickpocketing cannot be sold to regular merchants — attempting to sell stolen property at a normal vendor won't show those items in the sell list.

Back Alley Shop vendors buy most stolen goods directly. For stolen livestock, use the dedicated Livestock Fence.

For stolen wagons, use the Wagon Fence at Goldleaf Trading Posts. Goldleaf Trading Posts also host Trade Goods Black Market vendors who buy unpackaged trade goods.

The Crime System — What To Know

When you steal, you must stay hidden until the detection timer expires — similar to losing a wanted level.

You also lose Contribution Points per stolen item, regardless of whether you are detected. This penalty applies even if you escape without being seen.

Plan thefts around items worth the Contribution cost, and use the mask consistently — approaching without one blocks access to Strongbox loot entirely.

Grimrak — Your First Vendor

Grimrak is the first Back Alley Shop vendor you'll encounter. He's located southeast of Hernand town, at the base of the windmill nearest the river.

The Livestock Black Market sits directly opposite his stall, making it convenient to sell both stolen goods and stolen animals in one trip.

He also sells the Mask and Keys needed for early manor exploration, and buys whatever you lift — making him a genuine one-stop shop for the crime system.
