Code Vein 2: Elite Enemy Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Code Vein 2's Elite Enemies are the open world's most dangerous non-boss encounters — each one significantly harder than surrounding mobs, each one carrying a unique spectral material drop that can't be obtained elsewhere.

Defeat a Werebeast, and it drops Werebeast materials. Defeat a Forma Beast, and it drops Forma Beast materials.

These spectral materials are the crafting components for Boosters at Jadwiga — making Elite Enemies the primary farming source for build accessories rather than optional encounters.

All 80+ Elite Enemy locations are tracked with exact positions and era conditions on the Code Vein 2 interactive maps.

What Are Elite Enemies in Code Vein 2?

Elite Enemies are overworld mini-bosses — identifiable by their larger size, distinct visual design, and the fact that they patrol specific fixed routes rather than clustering with standard enemies.

They're stronger than anything around them, resist standard crowd-control tactics, and frequently guard high-value resources or block access to specific paths. Unlike Bosses, Elite Enemies respawn when you rest at a Mistle, making them farmable for their material drops across multiple runs.

A combat warning: when an Elite's HP drops below a certain threshold, it enters a Bloodthirst State — its attack power increases, it focuses exclusively on the player, and the white portion of its HP gauge regenerates.

Treat the second half of any Elite fight as a harder encounter than the first. Back attacks stagger most Elites reliably and remain effective even in Bloodthirst State — approach from behind where possible.

Code Vein 2 Elite Enemy Types: Ten Creatures Across All Regions

Ten distinct Elite Enemy types appear across the guide:

  • Moon Envoy — the most numerous Elite in the game. A floating creature carrying a bell, found in large numbers across all three Continent biomes and on MagMell Island. Moon Envoys patrol fixed road routes and can often be avoided by skirting around their patrol path — though defeating them yields Moon Envoy materials used for specific Boosters.

  • Large Moon Envoy — a significantly more dangerous variant carrying a bell. Fewer in number but harder-hitting. Found at specific road intersections and open areas on The Continent.

  • Forma Beast — a crab-like creature concentrated in the Sunken City area. Several spawn in specific timeline eras only.

  • Werebeast — a large furry creature found primarily in the Corroded Scar region and inside Pioneer Castle. Best farming spots are the southeast section of MagMell Island and the area near Corroded Scar's Plateau Ruins Mistle.

  • Deformed Ape — a large primate found patrolling roads throughout the Continent and inside the Collapsed Tunnel entrance to the Undead Forest.

  • Predator — a large lizard creature in the Corroded Scar area, including a cave accessible through the Riverport Watch Fort dungeon.

  • Metagen Remnant — a huge creature in the Corroded Scar's open area. Three appear in the Village Beneath the Dam zone, reachable through the Riverport Watch Fort dungeon.

  • Augmented Revenant — a humanoid Elite found in select open areas. One requires using the elevator under a bridge to reach.

  • Transformed Nurse and Transformed Patient — both are timeline-gated Elites that don't exist until a specific story event is completed.

Timeline-Gated Elite Enemies: Wrong Era, Empty Arena

Four Elite Enemies in the guide only exist under specific timeline conditions. In the wrong era, the arena is empty.

Two Forma Beasts spawn exclusively in 2179: The Hero Josée's Era — one under a bridge on the Sunken City's southeastern side, one in water in the same area. Travel to a different era, and neither appears.

Two further Elites unlock only after defeating Hero Holly the Reaper in the main story: the Transformed Nurse in Ruined Town and the Transformed Patient in Sanatorium 2277 - The Present, both appearing exclusively in the 2277: The Present timeline after that story event.

Every timeline condition is noted alongside each Elite Enemy's position in the guide.

Elite Enemy Drops: Spectral Materials and Booster Crafting

Every Elite Enemy type drops a unique spectral material tied to its creature type. These materials are the required crafting components for Boosters at Jadwiga's workshop in MagMell or at any Jadwiga's Minion station.

Forma Beast materials are more commonly found in Insula Carcere for higher-volume farming. Werebeast materials farm most efficiently at the Corroded Scar's Plateau Ruins Mistle area.

Moon Envoy and Large Moon Envoy materials are the most abundant, given how many appear across the Continent's road network.

All Elite Enemy positions are mapped with patrol routes noted — use the Map Jammer guide alongside this one, as several Map Jammers sit near Elite Enemy patrol areas, and revealing the map in those zones makes spotting and routing to Elites faster.
