Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 contains exactly 33 Music Records — a number matching the expedition itself — each containing a track from the game's acclaimed orchestral and choral score, composed by Lorien Testard.

Collecting all 33 unlocks the Connoisseur trophy and achievement, and every acquired record becomes playable at the gramophone in your Expedition Camp on shuffle or loop.

All confirmed positions are tracked on MapMaster's Expedition 33 interactive maps, including records in the 30 hand-drawn exclusive area maps unavailable anywhere else.

What Music Records Are in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

Music Records are physical collectible discs found in the open world, purchased from Artisan Gestral Merchants scattered across The Continent, earned through relationship progression with party members, or unlocked through specific story and side encounters.

Once collected, records stay in your library permanently and can be played at camp at any time.

The gramophone is also the in-game tracker — if you're missing entries, checking the gramophone shows your current collection without needing to cross-reference each location.

Two Missable Music Records: Act Early

Two records can be permanently missed:

• "Lumière" — earned by defeating the Mime boss in the Lumière prologue near the harbour, beside the dancing children. This is the only Mime in the game flagged as permanently missable, and defeating it also unlocks the "A Peculiar Encounter" achievement. A duplicate "Lumière" record is obtainable in the final area of the game — meaning if you miss the prologue Mime, you can still collect the duplicate and reach 33 records for the Connoisseur trophy. But the "A Peculiar Encounter" achievement requires the Mime defeat specifically.

• "Lettre à Maelle" — earned from an optional camp scene in Act 2: Verso and Maelle playing piano together. This interaction only becomes available after defeating the first Axon in Act 2. Missing the camp scene before Act 2 ends locks this record for the current playthrough. Visit the camp actively between major story events in Act 2 to ensure you don't miss the scene.

Four Ways to Earn Music Records

Exploration covers the majority — records sit as floor pickups across the hand-drawn area maps and on The Continent. Many are in locations that require Esquie's traversal abilities: Sinister Cave (Nocturne pour Lumière), Flying Casino (Reveries dans Paris), White Sands (Aline), and Renoir's Drafts (Endless Light) all require Esquie's fly ability at a minimum.

Merchant purchases account for five records. Strabami sells Lost Voice; Citrelo sells Children of Lumière; Rederi sells Robe de Jour; Rubiju sells Linen and Cotton; Blabary sells Goblu — all on The Continent at fixed positions.

Relationship progression unlocks the Sciel record at Relationship Level 6 — not Rank 10. The Monoco record is earned after completing the Noco side quest and returning to camp.

Story and boss encounters cover the hardest-to-earn records. "Our Drafts Collide" unlocks automatically at the end of the game. "Clea" requires completing Stage 11, Trial 3 in the Endless Tower. "Until Next Life" is given by the Young Boy after defeating the Scavenger boss. "Peace At Last" drops from Simon in The Abyss — typically the final record for the Connoisseur trophy, as Simon is the game's hardest optional encounter.

The 33 and 34 Record Quirk: Connoisseur Trophy Explained

There are technically 34 obtainable records in the game due to the "Lumière" duplicate. The Connoisseur trophy counts any 33 records collected, not 33 unique ones.

If you missed "Lettre à Maelle" but picked up both Lumière copies, you can still unlock Connoisseur. Some players report the trophy unlocking before they've collected every unique track — this is the expected behaviour given the duplicate.

To collect all 33 unique tracks (required for completeness, if not strictly for the trophy), both missable records must be obtained in the same playthrough.
