Wuchang: Fallen Feathers: Red Mercury Sprout Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Red Mercury Sprouts are the smallest and earliest XP consumables in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers — immature botanical harvests that yield exactly 100 Red Mercury each when consumed.

Their in-game description says it plainly: "Only a minuscule amount of red mercury can be extracted as it has yet to grow to maturity." There are exactly 7 fixed Red Mercury Sprout pickups in the game, all concentrated in the opening three areas of Chapter 1.

MapMaster's team has marked every one across the 50 hand-drawn Wuchang: Fallen Feathers area charts — the only visual navigation resource for a game with no in-game map.

What Red Mercury Sprouts Do

Red Mercury Sprouts are consumable items that must be deliberately used from the inventory screen — selecting "Use" converts their 100 Red Mercury directly into the active pool.

That amount is then available to refine into Red Mercury Essence at any Shrine. Like all botanical and tiered Red Mercury items, Sprouts are death-safe: they remain in inventory on death and cannot be dropped as raw floating Mercury is.

At 100 Red Mercury each, Sprouts are the least efficient XP consumable in Shu. By comparison, Red Mercury Shoots yield approximately 2,000 Mercury per item, and Budding Red Mercury orbs yield between 100 and 400.

Sprouts have their place in the very opening hours when every 100 Mercury matters against the first boss — later in the run, their value is negligible but still additive.

Enemy Drop Source

Beyond fixed world pickups, enemies in the opening areas — particularly the bandits and zombie enemies in the Lightzen Temple courtyard — have a confirmed drop rate for Red Mercury Sprouts.

This makes them a small renewable bonus on early enemy farming loops. Items that give off a faint blue glow in the environment are Sprouts or similar consumables — the visual tell applies both to world pickups and fresh drops.

All 7 Red Mercury Sprout Locations in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers

Reverent Temple holds 5 of the 7 — the highest single-area concentration of any guide in the entire Wuchang set relative to a guide's total. They are found at:

  • The corner of the balcony on the temple's upper floor
  • The edge of the small plateau halfway up the scaffolding
  • A dead end beside the river on the lower path
  • The bandit campfire area off the main path

Buddha Cliffs1 Red Mercury Sprout: by the small fence before entering the village, on the approach from the Reverent Temple path.
