Wuchang: Fallen Feathers: Red Mercury Shoot Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Red Mercury Shoots are plant-based XP consumables in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers — one of two botanical Red Mercury item types found across the world of Shu.

Each Shoot yields approximately 2,000 Red Mercury when consumed and adds that amount directly to the raw Mercury pool. Every confirmed world pickup is tracked on MapMaster's Wuchang: Fallen Feathers interactive maps.

What Red Mercury Shoots Do and How to Use Them

Unlike the raw floating Mercury gathered automatically from defeated enemies, Red Mercury Shoots must be deliberately consumed from the items screen to convert their value into the active Mercury pool.

Open the inventory, find the Shoot, and select "Use" to add approximately 2,000 Red Mercury to the current total. This amount is then available to refine into Red Mercury Essence at any Shrine.

Red Mercury Shoots are death-safe — they remain in inventory when Wuchang dies and cannot be dropped. Hold them until reaching a Shrine rather than consuming them in the field to avoid losing the gained Mercury if the next enemy encounter goes badly.

Red Mercury Shoots vs Red Mercury Sprouts

Two botanical Red Mercury item types are tracked in separate guides. Red Mercury Sprouts are the smaller, earlier-game variant. Red Mercury Shoots are the more developed plant growth, yielding more Mercury per item and appearing across a wider geographic range from Chapters 1–2.

Both are distinct from the six-tiered Budding through Crystalized Red Mercury consumables — those are alchemical orb items, while Shoots and Sprouts are raw botanical harvests.

Enemy Drop Source: Leech Enemies

Beyond fixed world pickups, Leech enemies have a confirmed drop rate for Red Mercury Shoots — approximately one per farming loop.

Leech enemy spawns in the Avian Marsh and surrounding Mt. Zhenwu areas are the most accessible renewable source once the world pickups are collected. Shoots from enemy drops function identically to world pickups and provide the same ~2,000 Mercury on consumption.

Hazard Warnings: Cannon and Jar Demon

Two world pickup locations carry specific hazard notes:

  • Cannon trap at Cloudspire Outskirts — One Red Mercury Shoot sits on the right side of the path leading to a clearing where a cannon enemy is positioned. Sprint the Shoot's collection and immediately exit the clearing's line of fire. The cannon does not respawn after the area is cleared.

  • Jar Demon at Shu Sanctum — one Red Mercury Shoot sits on a desk in the open house on the upper level, with a Jar Demon disguised as one of the pots next to the desk. Destroy the nearby ceramic pots from range before approaching the desk to avoid the ambush.
