Wuchang: Fallen Feathers: Red Faint Feather Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide
In Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, your weapon’s raw power is dictated by its Mastery level in the Impetus Repository. Faint Red Feathers are the early-game materials required to unlock the first three tiers of weapon mastery.
These items are most abundant in Chapter 1 (Worship's Rise). While they are eventually replaced by higher-tier feathers in later chapters, you can always return to early areas to scavenge any you may have missed.
Upgrading your weapon class (e.g., Dual Blades, Axes, or Longswords) is done at any Shrine. Unlike traditional RPGs, you are upgrading the entire category, so every weapon you find in that class receives the bonus.
- Mastery +1: Requires 2 Faint Red Feathers.
- Mastery +2: Requires 4 Faint Red Feathers.
- Mastery +3: Requires 6 Faint Red Feathers.
You can obtain Faint Red Feathers in multiple ways.
Commonly found in Shu Sanctum and Lightzen Temple, the Jar Demons disguise themselves as large ceramic pots. Jar Demons have a high drop rate for Faint Red Feathers, making them the best source of feathers in Chapter 1.
Once you encounter Wu Gang near the Lightzen Temple and "help him up" to begin his questline, he will become a merchant. He initially sells a limited stock of 10 Faint Red Feathers. This is the fastest way to hit Mastery +3 if you are struggling with the early bosses.
