Resident Evil Requiem: Ink Ribbon Tin Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Ink Ribbon Tins are the crafting components that allow Grace Ashcroft to manufacture her own save items in Resident Evil Requiem.

Each Tin combines with 40 units of Infected Blood to produce one Ink Ribbon — a single-use save at any Typewriter.

There are 13 confirmed Tin locations across the Care Center and ARK, marked with exact room names on the Care Center map and ARK interactive map.

Ink Ribbon Tins vs Ink Ribbons: What's the Difference?

An Empty Tin is completely useless on its own. To turn it into a functional Ink Ribbon, you have to combine it with 40 microsamples of Infected Blood.

Standard Ink Ribbons found in the world are immediately usable at any typewriter — no crafting required.

Tins require the Blood Collector and 40 units of Infected Blood per craft. Each Tin is a single-use crafting component — it produces one Ink Ribbon and is consumed.

First Tin Found: The Guard's Office and Unlocking the Recipe

Players will first get their hands on Ink Ribbon Tins during their first visit to the Guard's Office in the Care Center.

Picking up the first Ink Ribbon Tin will unlock the recipe to make Ink Ribbons in the crafting menu.

The recipe doesn't appear until that first pickup — head to the Guard's Office early to unlock crafting and establish your save economy before going deeper into the Care Center.

The Guard's Office Tin entry is the cabinet by the Supply Box, yielding x2 Tins.

How Many Ink Ribbons Can You Get in Total?

You can get 25 Ink Ribbons in total, including if you craft all the Ink Ribbon Tins.

This covers the 15 world-spawn Ribbons plus the 10 craftable Ribbons from the 13 Tin entries — three locations yield double packs (x2 each), bringing the crafted total to more than the entry count suggests.

On a well-managed Standard (Classic) run, 25 ribbons are more than sufficient.

On Insanity, where blood and Tins are harder to accumulate, reaching the full 25 requires diligent Blood Collector management across the entire Care Center.

Saving Strategy for Standard Classic and Insanity

Save before boss arenas and before entering any room where you expect a point of no return. On Standard (Classic), autosaves still occur between major moments — Ink Ribbons are for moments where you've achieved something specific and want to lock it in.

On Insanity, treat every Ribbon as precious: save after clearing a room of enemies, securing a critical Key Item, or unlocking a shortcut back to the main hub.

Ink Ribbon Tins are incredibly small and easy to miss in the dark. Activate your map overlay when you're low on ribbons and systematically check every room for uncollected Tins before moving forward.

Store Empty Tins in the Item Box when your inventory is full — every Typewriter is paired with a box, so you can pull a Tin and craft a ribbon on the spot when you need to save.

All 13 Tin Locations

The Care Center has 9 entries, three of which are x2 packs yielding 2 Tins each: the cabinet by the Supply Box (x2), the Parlor round table corner (x2), and the Cold Storage metal table (x2).

Single entries cover the bed, the Lead Researcher's Office near the Typewriter, the top of a white cabinet, the Basement Security Room cardboard boxes, and the barrel by the Processing area.

The ARK has 4 single-Tin locations: Chemical Storage Room desk, Cleanroom metal table, ARK Lobby couch, and inside the Bioweapon Repository 05 container.
