Resident Evil Requiem: Ink Ribbon Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Ink Ribbons are the manual save currency in Resident Evil Requiem — limited consumable items Grace Ashcroft uses at Typewriters to preserve her progress.

There are 15 confirmed Ink Ribbon locations across the Care Center, Water Treatment Plant, and ARK, all marked with exact room names on MapMaster's maps. Find the full list at the Resident Evil Requiem collectible tracker hub.

Which Difficulties Require Ink Ribbons?

Requiem has four difficulty settings, and Ink Ribbons only apply to two of them. Casual and Standard (Modern) both use automatic saves — no Ink Ribbons needed.

Standard (Classic) is the traditional experience where autosaves still occur but are less frequent, and Ink Ribbons are required to manually save at typewriters.

Insanity also requires Ink Ribbons for manual saves on top of its harder combat conditions.

If you're playing Casual or Standard (Modern) and searching for Ink Ribbons, you don't need them — they're irrelevant on your current difficulty.

The Ol' Fashioned Way: A One-Time Trophy, Not a Playthrough Challenge

The Ol' Fashioned Way trophy doesn't require you to complete an entire playthrough with Ink Ribbon saving.

It simply requires using an Ink Ribbon once to save at a typewriter on Standard (Classic) or Insanity difficulty.

Pick up any ribbon, find the nearest Typewriter, save once — trophy unlocks immediately. The trophy is earned in the first hour of Standard (Classic) if you pick up the Room 201 ribbon and save at the adjacent typewriter.

How to Craft Ink Ribbons

Ink Ribbons can be found or crafted with 40 Infected Blood and 1 Ink Ribbon Tin. The crafting recipe unlocks automatically after collecting your first Ink Ribbon Tin on Standard or Insanity.

Tins are the smaller metallic containers tracked in a separate guide. The 40-unit blood cost is low enough that crafting a ribbon from your Blood Collector reserves should always be possible if you've been collecting diligently.

The Infinite Ink Ribbon: Skip the Scarcity on Insanity

Beating the game in under 4 hours unlocks the Infinite Ribbon, which allows unlimited saves at typewriters on any difficulty without consuming a physical item.

Completing the Speed Demon challenge before your Insanity run removes ribbon management entirely — saving is no longer a resource decision.

We recommend doing the speed run before your Insanity playthrough, specifically for this reason.

All 15 Ink Ribbon Locations

Twelve of the 15 ribbons are in the Care Center — most placed near or next to a Typewriter.

Notable specific locations: Room 201 round table (earliest ribbon in the game), the Security Manager's Office couch, the Custodian's Office Typewriter, the Pantry shelf, the Processing Room Typewriter, the Private Lab metal table, and the Basement near the Typewriter.

One ribbon in the Care Center requires a specific access step: the Nurses' Station drawer ribbon is covered by a corpse. Return after obtaining the Screwdriver and escaping the large zombie, move the corpse, then open the drawer.

The Water Treatment Plant has one ribbon next to the Storage Bay Typewriter.

The ARK has two — near the Lab Entrance Typewriter and on the Operations Room small table.
