Resident Evil Requiem: File Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Resident Evil Requiem Files are the game's 75 collectible documents — reports, journals, photographs, memos, and research notes scattered across all 8 areas from Wrenwood to the ARK.

Collecting all 75 unlocks the "Case Closed" trophy on PlayStation and the equivalent achievement on Xbox and PC, plus 3,000 Challenge Points.

Every file is pinned with its exact room name across all area maps — use the checklist below alongside the Resident Evil Requiem 100% completion hub to track your collection.

How Many Files Are There in Resident Evil Requiem?

There are 75 Files in total, distributed across Wrenwood, Rhodes Hill (Care Center and Water Treatment Plant), East Raccoon City, Raccoon City Center, the Orphanage, and the ARK.

Files 74 and 75 — Alyssa's Interview Notes and Letter from Patrick — are obtained automatically during the Archives cutscene near the end of the game and are unmissable. All others require active discovery.

Tracking Your Progress: The Files Menu

Open the Files tab next to your inventory at any time to see which documents you've registered. The in-game list tracks files by name, making it straightforward to identify what you're missing.

One important note: the Files menu order does not follow chronological story order.

Use MapMaster's checklist for area-by-area tracking rather than relying solely on the in-game menu to plan your route. You can also track overall progress under Challenges > Case Closed.

Points of No Return: When Files Become Permanently Missable

Everything in Resident Evil Requiem is missable — there is no chapter select — but two Care Center moments lock more files than any others.

  • The first: once Grace drops into the Care Center basement, the upper floors become inaccessible.
  • The second: once you exit through the Main Hall into the Courtyard and push forward on the story objective, the entire Care Center interior locks behind you.

Make a manual save before dropping into the basement and another before exiting to the Courtyard.

The ARK has its own gate: Access Log: First Assembly Minutes must be read from the right-side terminal in the Archives before you interact with the large end-area console — that console ends the zone.

Files That Require Active Interaction

Several files in Requiem don't auto-register on pickup — they require a specific action before the game counts them as collected:

  • The Investigation Report (obtained at the start) must be rotated in your inventory, and the photo must be interacted with.
  • Alyssa's Journal must be taken out of the pouch and read.
  • The Chairman's Note requires finding the Pencil from the desk first, then using it to shade the paper — the revealed text gives the Chairman's Office puzzle box combination.
  • Scavenger Hunt Clues 1 and 2 in the S.T.A.R.S. Office must be rotated so you can read the note on the back — this step is mandatory for obtaining Jojo's Key from the Operations Room.
  • The Lead Researcher's Pictures 1, 2, and 3 must be zoomed in on to reveal the puzzle box solution.
  • The Library Card requires waiting a few seconds after opening the drawer for it to finish spawning before you can interact.

The Most Commonly Missed Files

Two files catch players most often.

  • The Photograph in the R.P.D. Library only spawns after you've already read all four files found in the S.T.A.R.S. Office — it won't appear if you go to the Library first.
  • The Access Log: First Assembly Minutes in the ARK Archives is on the right-side terminal facing the main monitor — players frequently walk past it and then use the end-area console, locking themselves out.

Deluxe Edition Files: From Meryl to Mommy

Five files are exclusive to the Deluxe Edition of Resident Evil Requiem: From Meryl to Mommy (1–5), spread across East Raccoon City and Raccoon City Center.

The checklist below tags each of these five entries with the Deluxe Edition condition. Standard Edition players cannot collect them.

Collecting all five "From Meryl to Mommy" notes is also a prerequisite for the R.P.D. Amulet charm to appear — see the Charm guide for details.

All 75 File locations are pinned on the Wrenwood Hotel map, Care Center interactive map, East Raccoon City map guide, Raccoon City Center map, Orphanage map, and the map for the ARK, with room names and any interaction requirements included.

Mommy,

Did I do something wrong? Daddy got mad at me.

He yelled WHY ARE YOU HERE? really, really loud.

He didn't let me in the police station.

I'm hiding with Mr. George now.

He said we can get inside by the parking garage.

But first, we are resting.

He's really nice, Mommy.

I'll give him one of my kitty bandages

to cover up the owie on his hand.

Love you lots,

Meryl
