An Elden Ring Invasion is the base of the game’s high-stakes risk-reward loop, allowing you to secure unique NPC equipment and challenge your build against specialized AI behavior

Invasions take place from the blood-soaked ravines of Limgrave to the shifting, spectral corridors of the Nightreign expansion. They grant access to legendary armaments like the Reduvia dagger, the Rivers of Blood katana, and the expansion’s new Night-Aspect gear.

The Lands Between: Essential NPC Invasions

Most NPC invasions are triggered by entering specific geographical zones while in "online" mode (though NPC invaders appear even offline). These are the requirements for many early-to-mid-game builds:

• Bloody Finger Nerijus: Located in the ravine northeast of Agheel Lake (Limgrave). He is the source of the Reduvia dagger.
• Festering Fingerprint Vyke: Found near the Church of Inhibition in Liurnia. He drops the Fingerprint Grape and Vyke's War Spear.
• Eleonora, Violet Bloody Finger: Invades at the Second Church of Marika (Altus Plateau). This is the standard method for securing Eleonora's Poleblade and a Purifying Crystal Tear.
• Bloody Finger Okina: Encountered outside the Church of Repose (Mountaintops of the Giants), yielding the infamous Rivers of Blood.
• Nameless White Masks: Three separate invaders found in the blood lake of Mohgwyn Palace. Defeating them is a requirement for obtaining the War Surgeon Set.

Shadow of the Erdtree: DLC Expansion Invasions

The Realm of Shadow introduces aggressive new phantoms that safeguard the DLC’s most specialized rewards:

• Fire Knight Queelign: Invades first in the Belurat courtyard and later at the Church of the Crusade. These fights are mandatory for securing the Crusade Insignia and the Prayer Room Key.
• Ancient Dragon-Man: Encountered on the road to the Dragon’s Pit; he serves as a preview for the dungeon's final boss.
• Moonrithyll, Carian Knight: Guards the entrance to the chapel in Castle Ensis, dropping the Moonrithyll’s Knight Sword.

2026 Nightreign: Limveld & Spectral Invaders

The 2026 Nightreign expansion has introduced Spectral Invasions, which are dynamic events that interact with "Shifting Earth" layouts in the Limveld region.

• Shadow-Hunter Kaelen: A frequent threat near the Great Church. This encounter is a requirement for unlocking the Nightfarer armor tier.
• Lost Scholar Elara: Invades specifically within the randomized Nightreign Castle Library. She is the mandatory for obtaining the Scholar's Relic, essential for arcane-scaling spellbook builds.
• Spectral Knight Valerius: Appears only when a Shadow Leak is active near a Divine Tower. Valerius is the source for the Night-Aspect: Blink ash of war.

In 2026, you must complete the White Mask invasions before defeating Mohg, Lord of Blood, or they will no longer spawn.

For those exploring the Nightreign Castle, use the Spectral Hawk Trees network to gain a vertical line of sight.

Invaders in the Limveld region often spawn near pressure plate shortcuts; landing directly on these plates from the air can sometimes "bug" the AI’s pathing, allowing for an easier victory.

If you are running the Undertaker class, make sure you have the Nightglow status active; this makes "Spectral Invaders" visible from a much greater distance, preventing lethal ambushes in the Forsaken Hollows.
