IPCA Tech in Days Gone Remastered is the game's most specific collectible — all 18 pieces are found on dead scientists' corpses at or near NERO Checkpoints and NERO Research Sites, and every single one is required to craft the IPCA Stun Gun — the game's most obscure and uniquely sourced weapon.
The Crafting Recipe for it doesn't appear until completing "There's Nothing You Can Do" — a post-story optional Mission. As with everything else in the game, all confirmed locations are visible and can be tracked on our Days Gone Remastered world map.
The IPCA Tech pieces can — and should — be collected throughout the campaign whenever NERO sites are visited.
But the crafting recipe that turns them into the Stun Gun is locked behind "There's Nothing You Can Do", which only becomes available in the menu after the main story concludes.
The recipe sits in the handgun slot immediately on unlocking, but nothing happens until all 18 pieces are in Deacon's inventory.
This means the optimal approach is to collect tech during normal play, then trigger the mission post-story and craft immediately.
Every IPCA Tech piece shares the same physical form — a piece of specialized equipment looted from NERO scientists who didn't survive the outbreak.
The table entries confirm this: "on a scientist's corpse behind a fence," "on the corpse of a scientist inside the MMU building," "on a corpse next to the wrecked helicopter," "on a corpse in a white hazmat suit next to crates."
Looking for dead bodies in white hazmat gear or scientist clothing near NERO infrastructure identifies the correct search targets.
Survival Vision highlights interactive objects, including these corpses, when in range.
The 18 pieces are spread across multiple site types visible in the table:
The Stun Gun fires two wire probes at a target — hold the trigger to maintain the electrical connection.
Most enemies catch fire after a few seconds of sustained shock, then die. Its most effective use is against Reachers, the mutated fast-moving Freaker variant that is difficult to stop with conventional firearms.
The shock stalls their charge, and the fire finishes them. Avoid using it against Breakers and Ragers — both can charge and physically interrupt the connection before the shock completes. Since it occupies the handgun slot, it replaces Deacon's sidearm while equipped.
