Fuel locations in Days Gone Remastered are the 12 working gas station pumps still operational across Oregon — the permanent, infinite refuel points that separate a well-planned route from a nightmare push through Freaker territory on an empty tank.
They're distinct from the red jerry cans scattered randomly around the world: pumps refuel instantly at the drive-up, are always available, and never run dry.
All 12 are documented on our Days Gone Remastered Oregon map for route planning before heading into unfamiliar regions.
Days Gone's fuel system is deliberately unforgiving — Deacon cannot carry spare fuel canisters on the bike. No storage, no reserve tank beyond the standard gauge.
When the fuel icon on the left of the HUD drains to zero, the bike stops, and fast travel locks out. The only options are to find a nearby red canister on foot, push the bike to the nearest fuel source, or sleep and hope a nearby location has a canister.
Knowing where the 12 pump locations are eliminates the main source of stranded-bike situations.
The bike's fuel tank capacity can be upgraded through the mechanic at any Encampment — larger tanks extend the riding range between refuels significantly, reducing dependency on the 12 pump locations and red cans for long cross-map trips.
Investing in tank capacity early is one of the most practical quality-of-life bike upgrades in the game.
The 12 pump locations are spread unevenly across Oregon — earlier regions (Cascade, Belknap) have better coverage, while the southern regions (Highway 97, Crater Lake) have longer dry stretches between working pumps.
For any cross-region journey, checking which pumps sit along or near the intended route before departure prevents running dry in the middle of a Horde territory with no red can in sight.
