Crimson Desert: Tannery Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

There are 7 Tanneries in Crimson Desert — hide and leather vendors in major settlements across Pywel, serving as the guaranteed silver-cost alternative to hunting when you need refinement materials.

What do Tanneries Sell?

Tanneries sell raw hide resources — Thin Hide, Thick Hide, Short Hair Hide, and Sturdy Hide — essential for refining leather armor and jewelry at the blacksmith.

Stock refreshes daily at midnight in-game time. The full confirmed hide range across both Hernand tanneries also includes Long Hair Hide — exclusively stocked by Galen at Thalwynd. If Long Hair Hide is what you need, Thalwynd is the correct stop.

All Tanneries also sell and buy goods — you can clear inventory directly at any tanner without riding back to a general merchant.

The Five Hides: What Each Is Used For

• Thin Hide (8 Copper) — basic leather refinement for low-tier armor pieces.

• Short Hair Hide (8 Copper) — basic refinement, same price tier as Thin Hide.

• Long Hair Hide (60 Copper) — mid-tier material from larger animals. Buy from Galen at Thalwynd only.

• Thick Hide (20 Copper) — used for refinement at the blacksmith for leather armor and jewelry. Obtained from hunting and skinning large animals such as Rhinos and Elephants. Rhinos are found near the fast travel point on the main road in northern Crimson Desert. Elephants are further north, slightly west of the road toward Varnia.

• Sturdy Hide (60 Copper) — used for refinement at the blacksmith for leather armor and jewelry. Obtained from hunting and skinning large reptiles.

Hunting vs Buying: When to Use Each

If you only need a handful of hides to finish a crafting recipe, tanneries sell small quantities of different hide types. For any serious volume, hunting is always the better option. Each Tannery has a limited daily stock that resets at 0:00 midnight in-game time.

Advance the clock by waiting at any Bonfire if you need to buy a second batch in the same session. For bulk Thick Hide farming, hunting Rhinos or Elephants in the Crimson Desert region is faster than cycling multiple Tannery restocks.

Trust-Gated Item: Leather Armors Vol. IV

The Tannery at Forentin Lodge (outside Vellua, southern Hernand) sells Leather Armors of the World, Vol. IV for 80 Silver — but only after you reach 100 Trust with its tanner. Build Trust by purchasing hides regularly and returning often.

Totesmith Tannery (Hernand, near Glenbright Farm and Emberwind Workshop, House Grace faction) hosts a world-spawn copy of Leather Armors of the World, Vol. II on a bookshelf inside the building — worth combining with any Totesmith visit if you haven't collected that volume yet.

All 7 Tannery Locations

Hernand leads with four entries: Bran at the Hernand Tannery (eastern side of the city), Galen at the Thalwynd Tannery (south side of Thalwynd village), the Totesmith Tannery near Glenbright Farm (House Grace faction), and the Forentin Lodge Tannery outside Vellua.

The remaining three are in Pailune, Demeniss, and Delesyia — one each, all accessible through regular regional progression.
