In Crimson Desert, Tanneries are specialized material shops found in the commercial heart of every major city, serving as the primary source for the rare hides needed to refine your gear.

Unlike hunting and skinning, which can be an unpredictable grind across the wilds of Pywel, Tanneries offer a guaranteed supply of refinement materials for silver.

From the Thin Hides required for basic gear to the elusive Sturdy Hides and Thick Hides used for high-tier leather armor and jewelry upgrades, these vendors ensure you have the raw resources necessary to push your defense stats to their limit.

To start upgrading, you first need to visit a regional Tannery in hubs like Hernand, Calphade, or Pailune. These shops are easily identified by their hanging hide racks and are often situated near the local market or smithy. Once you purchase your materials, you must take them to a Blacksmith to perform the actual refinement on your equipment.

Note that Tannery stocks are strictly limited and operate on a daily refresh cycle—meaning a shop will only restock its inventory at 0:00 midnight in-game time.
