In Crimson Desert, the main story is structured into 12 expansive chapters, plus a prologue and epilogue, that take you on a seamless journey across the continent of Pywel.

Your odyssey begins in the Prologue: Dead of the Night, set in the snowy, treacherous peaks of Pailune, where the Greymanes are ambushed and scattered by the Black Bears. This leads immediately into Chapter 1: The First Encounter, centered in the lush, green fields of the Hernand region. Here, you will undertake the Trials of Kindness and the Trace questlines, which serve as your introduction to the political climate of the world and the mysterious Woman in White.

As you move into Chapter 2: Golden Greed, the focus shifts to the city of Hernand and the surrounding manors. This is a critical point in the campaign where you complete the Unexpected Gift mission at the Lioncrest Watchtower to secure your first Memory Fragment and the Visione helmet.

Following the Hernand in Chaos and The End of Greed arcs, you will transition into Chapter 3: Howling Hill, located just south of the main city. This is where you reunite with your comrade Marius to begin the Homestead quest, establishing your permanent Greymane Camp on the hilltop.

The mid-game chapters, such as Chapter 4: The Price of Knowledge and Chapter 5: Guest Unbidden, will take you toward the scholarly heights of the Spire of the Stars and the power capital of Demeniss, where you deal with the Uninvited Guest and the Black and White faction conflicts.

The latter half of the journey returns you to the harsh climates of Pailune for Chapter 7: Homecoming, a massive narrative block that includes the Blazing Beacon, Turning Tides, and the Decisive Battle at the Silverwolf Mountains.

This leads directly into the political intrigue of Chapter 8: The Blood Coronation in the Demeniss Palace. The final stretch of the game pushes you into the lawless, heat-stricken Crimson Desert for Chapter 9: The Sage of the Desert, and the scientifically advanced region of Delesyia for Chapter 10: Counterattack and Chapter 11: Truth and Reality. How To Complete: Head to the base in the outskirts, northeast of the Abyss Nexus on the hill, and talk to the soldier by the tents and barrels. Go to the Black Bears' base to the northeast and defeat all the enemies there. Killing the enemies in the base is easy if you want to use a couple of the Whistling Arrows you got as a reward from the previous main quest. The soldier will lead you to the Calphade Beacon, where you have to go up the stairs and reach the brazier. Next, you have to light the large brazier. He never gave up hope, quietly sharpening his blade for the liberation of his homeland. How To Complete: Make your way to the eastern part of Beighen, to the red barn marked on the map. Now eavesdrop on the people inside the barn by going behind the building (the part without windows), hugging the wall, and pressing L1 on PS5. Then, head to the quest marker to the west and talk to the guard in front of the door (on the left facing the door). Pick the following lines: The Truth of the Underground Storage Lie – Secret Society’s Base Mysterious Faction within Beighen Lie – Beighen Tribe After the last line, quit the conversation and go to the new quest marker and eavesdrop again on the men behind the building next to the street vendor. After defeating the captors and rescuing the prisoners, you lit the beacon. The fire surged skyward, signaling the start of the counter-offensive. How To Complete: After speaking to Torstein, get out of the hideout and follow the soldier (first on foot, then on the horse). At some point, the soldier leaves you alone, and you must head to the Pailune Beacon. You can avoid most enemies along the way if you are not looking for a fight, but when you reach the beacon, you must kill the commander (the larger man who teleports around). The commander has pretty much health and hits hard, so be careful. After taking care of the commander, go up the stairs and light the beacon. To do so, you can use Concentrating Light (on PS5: L1 + R1, then keep holding the R1 and press L1 again) while aiming at the brazier. Reward(s): None

From here, you will have to continue alone and go to the quest marker west of Pailune. You can use your horse and avoid all the enemies along the way. How To Complete: Go to Lioncrest Watchtower, west of Hernand Town. Defeat all goblin bandits in the Lioncrest Watchtower courtyard. As you regain control of Kliff, step forward a short distance until you are prompted to clear the shrubbery blocking the doorway. To do this, press and hold L2/LT to nock an arrow; while keeping the string taut, move the tip of the arrow into one of the nearby torches to ignite it. Once the arrow is visibly flaming, release your shot at the overgrown plants to burn them away and reveal the entrance. Reach the top of the tower via the stairs inside. Reward(s): Arrows x10

He referred to the helmet a “visione.” After a cryptic and rambling explanation, he vanished like a phantom. Just what is this object? How To Complete: Reach the top floor of the Lioncrest Watchtower, west of Hernand Town. Find the Golden Helmet. To pick it up and automatically equip it, focus your attention on the item by pressing L1+Square / LB +X. Once equipped, you’ll need to access your first memory fragment using the Visione helmet's interface. Press D-pad Right and select the Armor category. Highlight the helmet and press X/A to open its options, then select ‘Play’ at the top. From the menu, choose Delysia, scroll down to the fragment titled "Visione," and press X/A to view it. Chapter: 2 – Golden Greed Sub-Chapter: Unexpected Gift Quest Description: The familiar figure of Rulupee, the Shai who lost their cat, has appeared near the Watchtower. How To Complete: Head to the Lioncrest Watchtower front gate to meet Rulupee. After the cutscene, start following the black cat. To track your feline guide, press and hold X / A; your character will then automatically move to stay with the cat. After reaching the Ancient Ruins, you’ll see a holographic projection of a child. Focus on the figure by pressing L1/LB and remain still until the "Learning in Progress" notification reaches completion. Once the process is finished, you will successfully master the Nature’s Grasp ability. Use Nature’s Grasp by pressing Triangle + O / Y+ B on the rock wall. Make your way inside the ruins where the child is deep in meditation. Just as you did before, center your attention on the child by pressing L1/LB to begin the learning process and unlock the Focus technique. Now, solve the Ancient Ruins Puzzle, then exit the small cave and grab the Abyss Artifact from the Meandering Hills Abyss Cresset. Finally, speak to Bilwise at the edge of the plateau outside the Ruins. Reward(s): Medium Bag x1 Palmar Pill x1
