Clair Obscur Expedition 33: Picto Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

In Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Pictos are the backbone of your character builds. These mystical symbols provide passive buffs, stat increases, and unique combat mechanics.


The most important mechanic to remember is Mastery: once a Picto is equipped for 4 battles, its passive effect is permanently unlocked for that character, allowing you to equip a different Picto while keeping the previous buff (at the cost of Lumina).


To equip multiple passive buffs, you must have enough Lumina:


  • These look like glowing rainbow shards. They are found in high-value chests, usually guarded by Mime Bosses or hidden behind Paint Spikes.
  • The best place to find Lumina shards in the late game is the Endless Tower, where they are guaranteed rewards for every 5 floors cleared.
  • Every character has a limited number of slots for active Pictos, but there is no limit to how many Mastered passives you can have active at once—provided you have the Lumina to pay for them.


Always have a "junk" Picto equipped on your reserve characters. Even if they aren't in the active battle party, they still gain progress toward Mastery, allowing you to unlock passive buffs for the whole team simultaneously.

The Exposing Attack can be purchased from Noco after you challenge him in battle.


Exposing Attack Picto Effect:

  • Base Attack applies Defenceless for 1 turn.
Staggering AttackFlying Waters

Found by the stone wall behind the Coral Cave Expedition Flag.


Staggering Attack Picto Effect:

  • 50% increased Break damage on Base Attack.
Rewarding MarkFlying Waters

Found on a small hill inside the Coral Cave, behind the large Nevron.


Rewarding Mark Picto Effect:

  • +2 AP on dealing damage to a Marked target. Once per turn.
Stun BoostAncient Sanctuary

Found in the back of the cave, in front of some Gestral statues.


Stun Boost Picto Effect:

  • 30% increased damage on Stunned targets.
DodgerSpring Meadows

The Dodger Picto is rewarded for winning the fight against the Portier inside the cave, after reuniting with Lune.


Dodger Picto Effect:

  • Gain 1 AP on Perfect Dodge. Once per turn.
Critical BurnSpring Meadows

The Critical Burn Picto is found inside a small cave in the Meadows Corridor. You can also buy it later in the game.


Critical Burn Picto Effect:

  • 25% increased Critical Chance on Burning enemies.
Marking ShotsFlying Waters

Found at the end of the passage, behind the 2 Lusters in Flying Waters.


Marking Shots Picto Effect:

  • 20% chance to apply Mark on Free Aim shot.
SOS ShellFlying Waters

Found at the end of a narrow path behind the tall seaweeds in Flying Waters.


SOS Shell Picto Effect:

  • Apply Shell when falling below 40% Health.
Augmented AttackSpring Meadows

The Augmented Attack is obtained by defeating the Chromatic Lancelier in Spring Meadows.


Augmented Attack Picto Effect:

  • 50% increased Base Attack damage.


Burning ShotsSpring Meadows

The Burning Shots Picto can be found next to some barrels at the edge of the cliff in Spring Meadows.


Burning Shots Picto Effect:

  • 20% chance to Burn on Free Aim shot.
Dead Energy IISpring Meadows

Found inside the barrel at the end of the upper narrow mountain path.


Dead Energy II Picto Effect:

  • + 3 AP on killing an enemy.
VersatileFlying Waters

The Versatile is found on the roof of a house in the Flying Waters plaza.


Versatile Picto Effect:

  • After a Free Aim hit, Base Attack damage is increased by 50% for 1 turn.
Auto RushContinent

On the ground, surrounded by three Ceramic Chevalieres. To reach it, advance on the main path until you grapple across a broken bridge, then go through the archway on the left.


Level: 10


Passive Bonuses:

  • 112 Speed
  • 7% Critical Rate


Luminas:

  • Apply Rush for 3 turns on battle start.
First StrikeStone Wave Cliffs

Found in front of the statue.


First Strike Effect:

  • Play First.
Cleansing TintSpring Meadows

The Cleansing Tint Picto is dropped by Eveque, the Spring Meadows boss.


Cleansing Tint Picto Effect:

  • Healing Tints also remove all Status Effects from the target.
Energising JumpAncient Sanctuary

Found by the mountain wall after crossing the bridge over the small river.


Energising Jump Picto Effect:

  • +1 AP on Jump Counterattack.
Energising Start IIAncient Sanctuary

Found at the end of the upper canyon.


Energising Start II Picto Effect:

  • +1 AP on battle start.
Effective SupportContinent

Between two tents on the Continent. Can be obtained without a fight.


Level: 14


Passive Bonuses:

  • 721 Health
  • 142 Speed


Luminas:

  • +2 AP on using an item.
Shielding TintContinent

Next to some crates and some broken pillars, on the Continent.


Level: 9


Passive Bonuses:

  • 313 Health
  • 116 Defense


Luminas:

  • Healing Tints also add 2 Shields.
Critical BreakContinent

Inside a Paint Spike on the Continent.


Level: 14


Passive Bonuses:

  • 203 Speed
  • 8% Critical Rate


Luminas:

  • 25% increased Break damage on Critical hits.
