Borderlands 4 (BL4): Firmware Transfer Machine Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Firmware Transfer Machines are endgame tools for perfecting your build in Borderlands 4. These machines allow you to move perks between items, but they only become available in Faction Towns after you have completed the main campaign.

Once you have located a machine, follow these steps to customize your gear:

• Select the Source Item: Place the item containing the firmware (perk) you want to extract in the first slot.
• Warning: This item will be destroyed during the process. Ensure you no longer need it.
• Select the Target Item: Place the item you want to receive the new firmware in the second slot.
• Requirement: The target item must be the same type as the source item (e.g., Class Mod to Class Mod, Grenade Ordnance to Grenade Ordnance).
• Complete the Transfer: Pay the required cost in Money and Eridium to finalize the process and receive your modified item.

Important: Once you transfer firmware to an item, that item becomes "locked." It cannot receive another firmware transfer in the future; you will need to find a fresh item for further customization
