Blades Of Fire: Boss Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

In Blades of Fire, Bosses are the armed gatekeepers standing between Aran de Lira and Queen Nerea's Royal Palace — fought across three Domains (Aecides Domain, Tok's Kingdom, and the Niveous Realm) and ranging from mandatory story encounters to hidden optional fights locked behind specific Runes.

Every Boss in this guide has its weapon weakness listed directly in the table — the single most practical preparation detail in the game, since bringing the wrong weapon type to a heavily armoured boss extends a fight dramatically while the correct one staggers or breaks armour in seconds.

All Boss locations are documented on our Blades of Fire interactive maps.

Three Things to Know Before Every Fight

  • Listen to Adso. During every boss encounter, Aran's companion shouts tips about the enemy's resistances in real time. Stone-plated armour means switch to a Blunt weapon (Warhammer) immediately; other armour types signal different counters. Adso's commentary is more than flavour — it's live tactical advice.

  • Target glowing limbs. Most Bosses have breakable parts. Breaking Titan's left leg in the Citadel of Tharas-Munda, for example, permanently disables his ground-slam shockwave for the rest of the fight. Prioritising a glowing limb over raw health damage is almost always faster than simply attacking the body.

  • Always carry a Backup Blade. On death, Aran drops his equipped weapon inside the boss arena. Re-entering that arena without a weapon means retrieving the dropped blade unarmed while the Boss is still active. Forge a secondary weapon at a Forger's Anvil before every major encounter and equip it as the secondary weapon — it costs relatively little material and eliminates the most common frustrating death spiral in the game.

The Three Kings: Multi-Encounter Optional Bosses

King Ashkhanar (Eastern Sword weakness), King Beltharun (Eastern Sword weakness), and King Narameth (Rapier weakness) are the game's multi-encounter optional bosses — each fought three separate times across different regions, with the first Ashkhanar encounter at the Gazebo of Solitude in Doyen Graves.

Defeating each King three times earns a Forge Scroll — one of the game's rare weapon unlocks.

All three are patient, high-damage fighters who leave gaps after slow attack sequences. Clearing other nearby enemies before engaging is strongly recommended, since all three regularly summon additional combatants mid-fight.

Bosses and the True Ending: Blue Gems

Every Templar of the Sacred Steel and most named Bosses drop Blue Gems (Nerea's Tears) on defeat.

These gems are the exclusive resource needed to unlock Nerea's Statues scattered across all 20 regions — 2 Blue Gems per statue, 13 statues needed for the game's true ending, requiring 26 Blue Gems total.

The final confrontations take place in the Royal Palace, where Queen Nerea is fought first — but Erin, her brother and the true Thaumaturgist villain, is revealed as the real final encounter.

Defeating the maximum number of optional Bosses rather than rushing the critical path is the most reliable way to have enough Blue Gems available without backtracking.

Templars of the Sacred Steel: Wake Them First

The most common Boss type in the game — petrified stone warriors found standing motionless in clearings, rooms, and cliffsides. Most require an Iridescent Crow to reanimate before they can be fought.

When a Templar is petrified, striking it once causes the nearest Crow's location to appear on the compass — follow the bird multiple times until it perches on the Templar and triggers the fight.

Only Templars awakened by Iridescent Crows drop Stamina Gems or Blue Gems; Templars that can be hit awake without a Crow typically drop nothing at all.
