Blades Of Fire: Iridescent Crow Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Iridescent Crows in Blades of Fire are the only way to wake a petrified Templar of the Sacred Steel — strike the stone warrior in front of you, watch the compass for a new marker, and follow that purple bird across however many perches it takes until it finally lands and triggers the fight.

There's no shortcut and no other method. Each Crow rewards a Stamina Gem or Nerea's Tear on completion — the primary source of both collectibles across the entire campaign.

Our Blades of Fire interactive game maps cover every Crow location and its corresponding Templar across all 20 regions.

Four Things to Know Before You Follow

  • Crows lead; you follow. Approach the bird, and it flies toward the Templar. Approach it again at its next perch. Repeat up to three or four times until it finally lands on the statue and triggers the fight. There's no trick — just keep closing the distance.

  • Sound is a reliable secondary tracker. Before striking a petrified Templar, listen for a distant squawk — audible through walls and across clearings. The compass marker appears after the strike, but the sound gives away the Crow's general direction even before interacting with the statue.

  • Crows can cross region boundaries. The very first Crow in Besacarr Hamlet flies all the way through into Kar-Lethel Swamp to wake its Templar — don't panic when the bird crosses a region line.

  • Defeated Templars do not respawn. Each fight is one opportunity. Miss the Crow, skip the area, or die and abandon the encounter before finishing — come back later, but come back. The Forger's Oracle post-story markers will highlight any remaining Crows missed during the campaign.

The Critical Distinction: Crow Templars vs No-Crow Templars

Not every petrified Templar requires a Crow — and this difference matters entirely for collectibles.

Only Crow-activated Templars drop Stamina Gems or Nerea's Tears.

Templars that simply start moving when struck (no Crow required) reward nothing — and can safely be ignored if farming Nerea's Statues material.

If a stone warrior moves immediately on contact without a compass marker appearing, it's a no-drop Templar.

Combat: Katanas and a Kneeling Window

Templars fight with Katanas, relentless combo chains, and high poise — one opening attack is frequently enough to disrupt Aran if stamina is low.

Fast weapons (Sabers, Daggers) work well for baiting and punishing.

When a Templar's stamina depletes, it kneels to recover — a full opening for multiple charged attacks before the fight resumes.

Prerequisites: Braziers, Runes, and Chapter 4

Some Crows require additional steps before the following sequence can begin:

  • Several Kar-Lethel Swamp Crows require lighting a nearby Brazier to activate a bridge — the Crow won't complete its path to the Templar without it. Light the fire before approaching the bird.
  • The City of Curved Stones and Northern Hiss City Crows require the Light Rune to access the area.
  • One Doyen Graves Crow and one Roggs Mountains Crow are both gated behind the Karamuth, only available in Chapter 4 — mark these and return once the flying mount is obtained.
