Yooka-Replaylee: Puzzle Piece Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Puzzle Pieces — also called Pagie Puzzle Pieces by many players — are the hardest collectibles to find in Yooka-Replaylee and the ones most commonly left incomplete.

Each Grand Tome world contains exactly 8 Puzzle Pieces: every 4 collected fuse automatically into one Pagie, giving 2 Pagies per world. Across all five worlds, that's 40 total Puzzle Pieces and 10 Pagies — a meaningful chunk of any completion run. All 40 locations are documented in the Yooka-Replaylee interactive maps and guide, with step-by-step instructions for every single one.

Why Puzzle Pieces Are the Hardest Collectibles in the Game

Two things set Puzzle Pieces apart from every other collectible. First, they do not appear on the in-game map — even after speaking to Mark, who reveals other items. Players have no in-game reference for where to look.

Second, many are triggered rather than simply picked up — they don't sit visibly in the world waiting to be walked into.

A Puzzle Piece might be buried underground with no visual hint, hidden inside a mushroom, locked behind an enemy wave, clear, or camouflaged in a painting on a wall.

Without knowing the specific trigger, even a thorough player can search an entire world and leave with pieces missing. The checklist below names both the position and the exact trigger for every entry.

Four Ways Puzzle Pieces Are Triggered

  • Buddy Slam on glowing ground — the most common trigger. A golden glow on the ground marks a buried Puzzle Piece. Buddy Slam it, and the piece pops up. Several look identical to other environmental features until hit.

  • Chest opens — some Puzzle Pieces are inside standard chests found in alcoves, on ledges, or inside structures. The chest position is pinned and cross-linked.

  • Enemy wave clears — some Puzzle Pieces only spawn after defeating all enemies in a designated area. The arena boundary and enemy count are noted in the checklist entry.

  • Environmental interactions — switches, statues, spinning platforms, roulette machines, pressure plates, and world-specific mechanics. Capital Cashino's Puzzle Piece #3 spawns only when a metal ball lands on the correct roulette segment. Galleon Galaxy's Puzzle Piece #7 requires interacting with a robot charger and then a plate on the robot's foot.

Transformation-Locked Puzzle Pieces

Three worlds have Puzzle Pieces that are completely inaccessible without the Mollycool transformation for that world.

Attempting to collect them before delivering the Mollycool to Dr. Puzz is impossible, regardless of how the area is approached:

  • Glitterglaze Glacier #3 — buried inside a snow mound, only reachable by the snow plough transformation.
  • Capital Cashino #5, #6, #7, and #8 — four of the eight Capital Cashino Puzzle Pieces require the helicopter transformation to reach the upper casino areas where they're located.
  • Galleon Galaxy #3 — located under a pier and accessible only after using the ship transformation's cannons to destroy a boulder blocking the path.

All 40 Puzzle Piece Locations in Yooka-Replaylee

The 40 Puzzle Pieces are spread across all five Grand Tome worlds — 8 each in Tribalstack Tropics, Glitterglaze Glacier, Moodymaze Marsh, Capital Cashino, and Galleon Galaxy.

None appear in Hivory Towers. Collecting all 40 contributes to the Trophy guide completion checklist and the Fully Loaded trophy for finding every Puzzle Piece in the game.
