The Precinct: Time Trial Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide
In The Precinct, Time Trials are the sharpest driving challenge in the game — solo, timed courses through Averno City's alleyways, boardwalks, and financial district streets that test cornering, precision, and collision avoidance rather than head-to-head racing.
There are 10 Time Trials in total, each themed around a specific driving skill. All 10 locations are marked on our complete The Precinct interactive map.
How to Start a Time Trial
Time Trials are marked on the map by a pink stopwatch icon, which changes colour based on the best medal earned and displays the current rank when hovered over.
Approach the plume of smoke marking the starting point on foot to trigger the challenge — courses run through alleys, parking lots, waterfront paths, and enclosures behind major buildings.
Medal Tiers and XP Rewards
Every Time Trial awards one of three medals based on finish time, with thresholds varying by course length and difficulty:
- Gold Medal (+500 XP) — the tightest time window, often only a few seconds faster than Silver
- Silver Medal (+200 XP) — a comfortable, achievable time for most runs
- Bronze Medal (+50 XP) — simply completing the course under a generous cutoff
Course lengths and difficulty vary considerably — Coastal Hazards at Pilgrims' Lookout requires a Gold finish under 55 seconds, while Cross-City: High Speed Maneuvers at Shermer Court, the longest of the ten, allows nearly three minutes for Gold.
Three Trophies in Sequence
- Ready for the Real Thing — complete any single Time Trial, regardless of medal.
- Pedal to the Metal — earn a Gold Medal in any one Time Trial.
- Fast Responder — earn a Gold Medal in all 10 Time Trials. Widely regarded by the community as one of the two hardest trophies in the entire game, alongside Hidden in the Hood — Gold thresholds demand consistently clean, mistake-free runs.
Choosing the Right Vehicle Matters
Since Gold Medal times are frequently tight, vehicle choice has a real impact on completion.
A fast, responsive sports-type car handles cornering and precision-heavy courses like Shopping Mall: Cornering and Financial District: Close Control far better than a heavier or slower vehicle.
Testing a run on Bronze or Silver difficulty first, then switching to a faster commandeered vehicle for the Gold attempt, is a reliable approach for the tightest courses.
Repetition Is the Best Strategy
Community consensus is unanimous: repetition is the only reliable way to consistently hit Gold thresholds.
Learning each course's specific turns, obstacles, and shortcuts through multiple attempts — rather than expecting a first-try clean run — is the standard approach for completing Fast Responder.
