Resident Evil Requiem: Key Item Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Resident Evil Requiem Key Items are the objects that drive every door, puzzle, and story beat forward — over 70 keys, tools, wristbands, quartzs, and puzzle components distributed across all 8 areas from the Wrenwood Hotel to the ARK.


Both Grace and Leon carry Key Items throughout the game.


Our maps include all locations with usage instructions, access conditions, and cross-links to dependent items on the Resident Evil Requiem interactive maps — the only resource that maps Key Items at this level of detail.


What are Key Items in Resident Evil Requiem?


Key Items occupy standard inventory slots until their purpose is fulfilled.


Once an item is no longer needed — shown by a red checkmark in your inventory — you can safely discard it or deposit it in an Item Box to clear space.


Key Items span three main types: physical keys and keycards that unlock doors and gates, ID Wristbands that grant tiered access to restricted areas, and puzzle components that combine with other items or environmental objects to progress the story.


Always Examine Your Key Items


Several Key Items in this guide are hidden inside other objects — they won't appear in your inventory unless you actively examine, rotate, or open the container first.


The East Wing Keycard is inside a severed hand lying on the floor of the Parlor — interact with the hand and rotate it.


The Red Jewel is inside the Unicorn Trinket Box in the Chairman's Office — pick up the box, rotate it, and press the button on the side to open it.


The Double Helix Model is inside a wine bottle in the VIP Suite — pick it up and rotate it until the label is complete.


The Moon Quartz and Sun Quartz are both inside the Lead Researcher's Office Puzzle Box.


If you're searching for a Key Item and can't find it, check whether you're holding a container that needs examining first.


The ID Wristband Tier System


The Care Center uses a three-tier security system gated by ID Wristbands.


Level 1 is found on the hand of a headless corpse outside the Lead Researcher's Office — the Chunk enemy will attack when you approach it, so be ready to run. Level 1 opens all Level 1 security points on the ground floor.


Level 2 is obtained from the Organless Corpse in the Examination Room after placing both the Artificial Heart and Artificial Lungs into its chest cavity — both organs must be found before this becomes available. Level 2 opens the Isolation Ward Gate.


Level 3 is obtained by solving the Star Puzzle Box using the combination from the Security Manager's Notebook — fold the page to reveal it. Level 3 opens the two cells in the Medication Room.


Critical Missables: Act Before Triggering These Events


Several Key Items are temporarily inaccessible or permanently missable if you trigger nearby events in the wrong order.


  • Before moving the cart in the Nurses' Station, collect the Antique Coin on top of the nearby locker — once the cart moves, that coin is gone.


  • Before removing the Fuse from Room 201, collect everything in the surrounding area — removing the fuse triggers an immediate chase sequence.


  • Do not remove Joint Plug #3 on your first visit to the Processing Room — you collect it on the way out after emptying the tank, not on the way in.


  • Before pressing the button on the Chemical Treatment Power Distributor in the Water Treatment Plant, stun The Girl with a Requiem shot first.


Difficulty-Specific Key Item Locations


The Pantry Key behaves differently across difficulties.


On Casual and Standard, it drops from the Chef enemy in the Kitchen and Parlor area. On Insanity, it is relocated to the cabinet in the Waiting Room Closet and must be collected there instead.


The Unicorn Trinket Box (which contains the Red Jewel for the Parlor Door) is found on the small desk in the Chairman's Office on Casual and Standard, and by the ship model in the same office on Insanity.


The Tactical Tracker in East Raccoon City is a first-playthrough-only item that grants credits for enemy kills — it does not appear on subsequent runs.

Wire CuttersWrenwood Hotel

Found on the pool table in the rec room. Use it to unlock the door of the corridor leading to Room 204.

Square Socket WrenchCare Center

Found in a red case in the Care Center Boiler Room. You need this wrench for the Power Distributor in the Collection Pool and to unlock the Workshop Vent.


It can be collected only after going through the Fence Hole and after interrupting the electricity.

SwitchARK

Found in the Generator Room. Press the button to gain access to the eastern side of the room.

Surveillance TerminalARK

Found in the back of the room. Interact with the computer to start a cutscene and progress the story.

HatchARK

Found in the ventilation system. Interact with it to get to the next section.

SwitchARK

Press it to gain access to the Generator Room to the west.

PhotosWrenwood Hotel

Found on the bed in Room 204. Interact with the photos and look at the photo in the middle of the bed to progress the story.

PaintingWrenwood Hotel

Found behind the luggage cart in the lobby. You can move the luggage cart and interact with the painting after returning from the flashback to the present. This is a mandatory step for progressing the story.

Cherub KeyCare Center

Found in the small table drawer at the end of the corridor.

LightswitchCare Center

Found on the wall in the red light area. You need to flip this specific switch to progress the story.

FuseboxCare Center

Found next to the locked gate.

West Wing KeycardCare Center

Obtained automatically after the cutscene with the little girl.

Leatherbound NotebookCare Center

Found inside the Lead Researcher's Office Puzzle Box. Make sure you open it and read the files inside.

CoffinOrphanage

Found in the crypt. Pull it out and climb on it to reach the other side of the fence.

Crime Scene Evidence #2Wrenwood Hotel

Found in the bar. Check the markings on the table.

ID Wristband (Level 3)Care Center

The ID Wristband (Level 3) is obtained when you investigate the Star Puzzle Box.


Use it to open the two cells in the Medication Room.

Security Manager's NotebookCare Center

Found near the Security Manager. Interact with it and fold the page to see the combination you can use to open the Star Puzzle Box. However, keep in mind that you won't be able to do it right away.

Hidden LeverCare Center

Found behind the painting in the Director's Office. Interact with the painting as Leon to reveal a lever that you can pull to reach the corridor behind the wall.


Stay sharp because once you pull the lever, you will have to fight several blisterhead zombies until the gate opens.

Joint Plug #3Care Center

Found in the Processing Room Power Distributor. Do not remove it the first time you reach the room. You'll get it on your way out, after you empty the tank.

Power GeneratorEast Raccoon City

Found just outside the BSAA tent. Interact with the Power Generator so you can use the Computer (Save Point), to open the Supply Box in the tent, and to open the Logistic Warehouse Door.
