In Doom: The Dark Ages, Wraithstones represent the peak of character progression. While Gold and Rubies handle standard modifications, Wraithstones are required for the final, high-tier "Mastery" upgrades of your weapons at Sentinel Shrines.
There are 11 Wraithstones in total. Finding all of them is mandatory to fully max out your 16-piece arsenal and unlock the Gunpletionist trophy/achievement.
Wraithstones only begin appearing in the second half of the campaign, starting with Chapter 9. Many are locked behind elaborate environmental puzzles or protected by magical barriers that can only be dispelled by finding and interacting with Wolf Statues hidden nearby.
In chapters like The Kar'Thul Marshes and Resurrection, you will encounter Wraithstones encased in a translucent blue shield. Here is how to get them:
Because there are 16 weapons and only 11 Wraithstones, you must choose which 11 weapons you want to master during your first playthrough.
We recommend prioritizing the Super Shotgun, Dreadmace, and Ballistic Force Crossbow for your first few stones, as their final upgrades offer the most significant combat advantages.
Once a Wraithstone is spent on the final tier, the Mastery Challenge (e.g., "Get 50 headshot kills") becomes active. Complete it to earn the Conqueror Skin (Gold).
As several Wraithstones are hidden in Secret Areas or behind complex Wolf Statue hunts, they are the most difficult resource to track. However, if you follow our Doom 2025 interactive maps, you'll get all of them without having to restart any of the game's missions.
