Days Gone Remastered: Herbology Collectible Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Herbology Collectibles in Days Gone Remastered are the 33 plant species — berries, mushrooms, and herbs — scattered throughout Oregon's wilderness that function simultaneously as a field guide, a crafting economy, and a completion tracker.

Each of the 33 species has exactly one dedicated map entry marking a confirmed spawn location, but plants respawn at those locations after fast travelling away and returning, meaning none are permanently consumable.

All 33 confirmed locations are clearly marked on our Days Gone Oregon map.

Three Plant Categories, Three Uses

  • Berries — 9 types including Bearberry, Black Currant, Salmon Berry, Crowberry, Cloudberry, Bunchberry, Desert Hackberry, Golden Currant, and Bristly Manzanita. Used in crafting Crafting Recipe Health Cocktails and sold at kitchen vendors for Credits and Trust.

  • Mushrooms — 7+ types including King Bolete, Golden Chanterelle, Horn of Plenty, Ink Cap, Mica Cap, Scaly Hedgehog, and Larch Bolete. Used in crafting Focus Cocktails.

  • Herbs — 17+ types including Bistort, Coltsfoot, Indian Pipe, Blue Camas, Wild Bergamot, Mayweed, Wood Lily, Water Hemlock, and Lavender. Used in crafting Stamina Cocktails. One exception: Lavender functions as a Sterilizer rather than a standard herb, meaning it's used in both Cocktails and Bandage crafting — the only herb with this dual function.

Finding Plants: Two Tools That Help

Survival Vision (hold L2) highlights nearby plants with an icon — one of the few collectible types in Days Gone that the vision system explicitly marks. Stand still and sweep with Survival Vision in known plant areas to identify nearby species before walking up.

Hawkeyed Survival Skill — once unlocked in the skill tree- makes plant icons appear directly on the minimap as category symbols (berry icon, mushroom icon, herb icon) whenever Deacon is in range. The icons don't specify the exact plant type, so checking MapMaster's confirmed locations is still required to target specific missing species.

One Mission Gate: Water Hemlock

Water Hemlock (#33) is the only plant in the game that cannot be collected until a story Mission is active. It grows in the marshlands of southern Highway 97 but is physically inaccessible until completing "I've Got A Plan" — a late-game quest at Wizard Island.

Players who sweep the area before this mission will find nothing where the plant should be. After the mission, the Water Hemlock spawns normally and can be collected on any return visit.

Sell Everything You Don't Craft

Plants that aren't needed for crafting are best sold at Kitchen Vendors inside any Encampment.

Each sale earns both Credits and Trust Points with that camp's faction — making regular plant collection one of the most consistent passive trust-building methods in the game alongside Freaker Ear bounties.

Trophy Contribution

All 33 Herbology Collectibles count toward "The Broken Roadshow" (Silver, 75% of all 240 collectibles) and "Wannabe Fortune Hunter" (Bronze, 50%).

Neither is specifically about plants — both are broad completion thresholds across all collectible types. Finding your first collectible of any kind also unlocks "Finders Keepers" (Bronze).
