Crimson Desert: Tool Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

In Crimson Desert, Tools are essential items needed to harvest the raw resources of Pywel, from timber to the rare ores required for your next weapon refinement.

Unlike your primary sword, which is meant for the battlefield, these specialized tools are the only way to interact with the world’s rich environmental systems.

From the basic Logging Axe and Pickaxe found in early-game markets to the Mining Knuckledrill—a rare hybrid tool that doubles as a drill and a weapon—having the right equipment is what separates a struggling wanderer from a well-supplied warlord.

Whether you’re using a Broom to clear chimneys for side-quest rewards or a Lantern to reveal hidden items for pickpocketing, these tools are the silent drivers of your progression.

To start building your toolkit, you first need to visit the Provisioner Shop in the first town of Hernand. Located just down the road from the central tavern near Blummont Manor, this vendor is your one-stop shop for fundamental gear like the Fishing Rod, Shovel, Mallet, and Rake.

While many basic tools can be purchased for a few copper coins, specialized items like the Mining Knuckledrill must be earned through specific faction quests, such as defeating the Excavatron in the Stolen Quarry mission.

Note that tools in Crimson Desert are not just inventory icons; they must be physically equipped. A crucial strategic tip for any gatherer is to look into the Force Current ability in Kliff’s skill tree—it allows you to blow up ore deposits using your grapple, effectively replacing the need for a pickaxe when you're in a hurry.

However, for precise harvesting and maximizing your yield, nothing beats the consistency of a well-maintained iron tool from a regional vendor.

To help you find every specialized shop and unique tool quest, we have marked all their locations on our Crimson Desert interactive regional maps.

Note: While these tools have numerous spawn points, our maps highlight one accessible location for each—typically in a safe area where you can collect them without committing a crime.
