Crimson Desert: Mace Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

There are 15 Maces in Crimson Desert — one-handed blunt weapons distributed across Hernand, Pailune, Demeniss, and the Crimson Desert region. Every location is pinned on MapMaster's interactive maps and part of the Crimson Desert complete guide collection.

Are Maces Good in Crimson Desert?

Honest answer: Maces are the weakest one-handed option in the current weapon tier consensus.

They are slower than Swords, have less range than Hammers, and their core value — breaking enemy guards and stagger-locking defenders — is a niche that other weapons cover as a byproduct of their normal kits.

The stagger values are high, and the damage per hit is respectable, but the Mace is the slowest weapon in the game, and it doesn't hit hard enough to justify that speed disadvantage.

That said, Maces have a specific use case: they excel at dealing stagger damage to armoured enemies, and are particularly effective against foes wearing heavy plate armor, where slashing weapons lose some of their effectiveness.

If your playstyle is defensive — shield in one hand, mace in the other — they function reliably in that role.

They also work as an off-hand pairing alongside a faster main-hand weapon for players who want stagger output without committing fully to a heavy weapon build.

How Do Maces Work?

Maces are one-handed weapons that can be equipped in the main hand, off-hand, or dual-wielded with another one-handed weapon.

They deal blunt damage with high stagger output per hit. The trade-off is attack speed — every swing has a longer recovery window than a Sword or Rapier. The recommended pairing is a Shield in the off-hand: block incoming attacks, then counter with a mace swing that builds the enemy's stagger bar.

Once staggered, follow up with Force Palm to shove armoured opponents off balance before they can reset their guard.

What Is the Best Mace in Crimson Desert?

From the 15 available, three stand out based on confirmed checklist data and accessibility:

  • Acorn Mace — the most reliable early mace, found in the corner of the upper wall of the Demenissian Ruins. Consistently, the first quality mace players discover is a meaningful upgrade over the Crude Club.

  • Mace of Betrayal — found on the upper level of a tower inside Calphade Castle in Hernand. Access by climbing the outer tower wall and entering through one of the two windows on the south side. No quest required — it's a world pickup for players willing to make the climb.

  • Octarr's Legacy — located in the Crimson Desert region. The endgame option for mace builds.

How Many Maces Are in the Game?

Exactly 15 Maces are confirmed across all regions. Two — the Iris Mace and the Spine of the Earth — appear twice in the checklist, once as a world spawn and once as a random enemy drop, giving players two routes to the same weapon.

While these weapons have numerous spawn points, our maps highlight one accessible location for each—typically in a safe area where you can collect them without committing a crime.
