Crimson Desert: Exploration Challenge Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Crimson Desert Exploration Challenges are tracked through the in-game Challenges Menu across nine discipline categories: Secret Places (Abyss Cressets), Ancient Ruins, Spires, Sanctums, Mazes, Constellations, Life Knowledge, Trade Routes, and Hidden Wonders.

This specific checklist covers the Restoration - The Abyss challenge set, four dungeon-zone puzzles located in Crimson Desert's Abyss areas.

Each one requires physically entering a specific Abyss zone, completing its Restoration puzzle, and obtaining the resulting Abyss Artifact.

Completing all Abyss Restoration challenges contributes toward the Conqueror of the Abysses trophy on PlayStation and the equivalent achievement on Xbox and PC.

The Four Abyss Restoration Challenges

• Axiom Archive — unlocked when you reach the Axiom Archive at the end of the Mystical Key Quest in Chapter 1. The challenge triggers automatically when you approach the large monument on the northern side of the area. Reward: Abyss Artifact.

• Ethereal Pathway — unlocked during the Abyss without Balance Quest. Completing the quest completes the challenge. Reward: Abyss Artifact.

• Chaos Forest — unlocked when you first reach the Chaos Forest. Complete the Chaos Forest puzzle to finish the challenge. Step-by-step puzzle instructions are in the checklist entry below and on the Chaos Forest interactive map. Reward: Abyss Artifact.

• Roots of Truth — accessed via the teleporter inside the Chaos Forest. Complete the Roots of Truth puzzle to finish the challenge. Reward: Abyss Artifact.

How Challenges Are Tracked

Every Exploration Challenge — across all nine discipline types — is visible in the Challenges Menu, accessible from the pause menu under Collection.

Completed challenges show a checkmark; active ones show your current progress.

If a Mysterious Energy (?) marker remains on your world map after you've visited an area, it indicates an unsolved puzzle or an entrance you haven't yet discovered.

Activating your Lantern (L1/LB/CTRL) near these markers pulses the nearby interactive elements.
