Crimson Desert: Crafting Book Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Crimson Desert Crafting Books are blueprint volumes that permanently expand Kliff's crafting menu at any Smithy.

Finding one is a Knowledge event — picking the book up isn't enough. You must open your inventory and Examine the book to register its blueprints.

This applies to every book, whether stolen, purchased, or found on a table. Every confirmed location is pinned on MapMaster's region maps, included in our Crimson Desert guide hub.

Seven Blueprint Categories

The checklist below spans seven distinct crafting categories, each split across multiple volumes:

One-Handed Weapons (Vol. 1–3) — Swords, Axes, Daggers, Maces, Rapiers, Hammers
Two-Handed Weapons (Vol. 1–4) — Halberds, Greataxes, Greathammers, Spears, Cannons, Staffs

Elowen at the Witch's Hut in Hernand sells Vigor, Vitality, and Composure. Bari, the Witch of Kindness at Crimson Lake in Pailune, sells Swift and Apollonia's Elixir (the latter requires maxing out Trust with Bari first).

Three Ways To Acquire Crafting Books

Theft

The majority of books require a Mask from a Back Alley Shop and a Key to access locked rooms. Most noble manors, guild houses, tanneries, and castle libraries across all five regions contain at least one book.

Wear the mask before entering and keep moving — guards will attack if they see you masked.

Several books are sold directly:

One-Handed Weapons Vol. 1 from Rhett at the Hernand Equipment Shop
Guns Vol. 1 from Nork at his excavation site shop in Hernand (2.50 Silver)
Shields Vol. 1 and 2 from Temir at the Thalwynd Equipment Shop

Cloth Armors Vol. 1 from Tina at the Hernand Tailor

Trust-Gated

Some books only become available after building vendor Trust. Leather Armors Vol. 4 at Forentin Lodge Tannery (80 Silver) requires maxing out Trust with the vendor.

Cloth Armors Vol. 4 at the Pailune Back Alley Shop requires Trust level 100.

Notable Finds Worth Knowing First

Multiple copies of the same volume exist across regions — the checklist marks these as "Another copy." Any single copy permanently registers the blueprints; you don't need duplicates.

The Bows Vol. 1 at Ivynook house in Hernand requires a unique approach: light an arrow using the nearby Bonfire, then shoot the vines covering the building to burn them and gain entry.

The Ranged Weapons - Guns Vol. 3 in Hernand is on a bookcase on the second floor of the Scholastone Institute Library — theft only, so bring your mask.
