Assassin's Creed Shadows: Kano Painting Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

In Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Kano Paintings are unique quest items and collectibles required for the side quest "Art Collector," which tasks Naoe and Yasuke with saving these masterpieces from the fires of war.

This quest begins in the Yamashiro province, where you will meet the legendary artist Kano Eitoku. The mission becomes available automatically through main story progress, marked by an exclamation point (!) on your map.

Eitoku fears that the constant castle sieges will destroy his life's work and asks you to retrieve 10 specific paintings scattered across the archipelago.

Unlike standard loot, Kano Paintings are almost exclusively located inside Castles, often within the main keep (Tenshu) or high-security lord's quarters. These items do not appear on the map at a glance. You must zoom fully in on a castle to see the distinct white painting icon.

If you are struggling to spot them, open your map and press D-pad Down to access the filter menu, then toggle specifically for Kano Paintings. Do not worry about the changing seasons or story decisions; all 10 paintings remain obtainable in free-roam after the main campaign concludes.
