Yooka-Replaylee: NPC Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Yooka-Replaylee NPCs are the primary source of Pagies across all five Grand Tome worlds — without finding and completing their tasks, a significant portion of each world's collectibles remains locked.

Every NPC's exact position and task instructions are in the checklist below, with direct links to the Yooka-Replaylee free interactive maps for each one.

NPCs don't appear on the in-game maps until you find them through exploration.

Knowing where to look before entering a world is the difference between a clean sweep and multiple backtracking runs.

What NPCs Do in Yooka-Replaylee

NPCs fall into three functional types.

Some offer one-time interactions — speak to them, complete their request, collect a Pagie.
Others run mini-games and challenges that must be won to earn their rewards.
A third group initiates multi-step quests where speaking to one NPC reveals the next in a chain, with the Pagie only awarded at the end of the sequence.

Several NPCs also serve as ability unlocks — Reps Tillian in Galleon Galaxy explains how to obtain the Strongman Slam, and Shovel Knight provides the strategy for the Vault Key challenge in the same world.

Some NPCs require specific Upgrades — Camo Cloak for Sir Shootsalot's Vault Key in Galleon Galaxy, Reptile Rush for Sir Scoffsalot's Vault Key, Water Bomb for Lady Leapalot's.

Others are locked behind the Mollycool transformation — several Capital Cashino NPCs (Sir Shootsalot, Sir Scoffsalot, Lady Lootsalot, Lady Leapalot) only become interactable after the helicopter transformation is obtained from Dr. Puzz.

Three Recurring NPCs Found in Every World

Dr. Puzz appears in all five Grand Tome worlds at a fixed position, always near the world's Mollycool delivery point. She transforms Yooka and Laylee after receiving the Mollycool — into a worm (Tribalstack Tropics), a snow plough (Glitterglaze Glacier), a shoal (Moodymaze Marsh), a helicopter (Capital Cashino), and a ship (Galleon Galaxy). All five Dr. Puzz positions are included in the guide.

Kartos is the mine cart NPC who races through a challenge course in every Grand Tome world. Completing his challenge earns 3 Pagies per world — 15 Pagies total across the full game. Kartos's position and challenge entry point are pinned in all five worlds.

Rextro is the dinosaur arcade NPC who runs the Rextro Bytes Back mini-game in every world, plus Hivory Towers. Each visit requires a Play Coin to activate the arcade machine, after which completing the mini-game at Bronze, Silver, and Gold standard earns 3 Pagies per location.

NPC Task Types: What to Expect

Token trading — Cashital Zee in Capital Cashino collects tokens found throughout the casino and trades them directly for Pagies.

Ring flying challenges — four NPCs in Capital Cashino (Sir Shootsalot, Lady Leapalot, Sir Scoffsalot, Lady Lootsalot) each assign a helicopter ring-flying route to a specific landing zone. All four must be completed for their respective Pagies.

Vault Key collection — Shovel Knight in Galleon Galaxy briefs on the four pig guards; each pig (Sir Shootsalot, Sir Scoffsalot, Lady Lootsalot, Lady Leapalot) holds a Vault Key and requires a different ability to defeat: stealth (Camo Cloak), rush attack (Reptile Rush), spray (Water Bomb), or Camo Cloak again.

Multi-step quests — the Wild Hog Chase in Tribalstack Tropics chains Sir Scoffsalot → Lady Lootsalot → Sir Shootsalot → Lady Leapalot → back to Sir Scoffsalot in sequence. The Pagie only appears once the chain is complete.

Boss triggers — Moonie in Galleon Galaxy initiates a boss fight when shot by the ship's cannon. Speak to her first, then fire.

Transformation-locked NPCs — the five Wildflower characters in Tribalstack Tropics are invisible until the worm transformation is obtained from Dr. Puzz. They become visible and interactable only in transformed form.
