Ammunition Locations—ranging from the infinite stock of the Nomadic Merchants to the hidden caches in the Limveld ruins—allow you to define strategies like "Bleed Sniping" or "Sleep-locking" colossal bosses.

To maintain a high-RPM (Runes Per Minute) efficiency, you must prioritize merchants with infinite stock to avoid manual crafting grinds:

• Merchant Kalé (Church of Elleh): Your literal starting point for Throwing Daggers (40 Runes) and standard Arrows.
• Isolated Merchant (Caelid, North): The exclusive source for infinite Serpent (Poison) Arrows, essential for whittling down high-HP field bosses.
• Nomadic Merchant (Mt. Gelmir): The primary vendor for Explosive Bolts, which provide essential AoE damage for Crossbow users.
• Imprisoned Merchant (Mohgwyn Palace): The gatekeeper to infinite Burred Bolts and Blood Arrows, the meta-standard for high-frequency bleed builds.

Many of the most potent projectiles are found in the world’s vertical architecture or within the new Limveld and Shadow regions:

• Shadow Keep (Shadow of the Erdtree): Features multiple caches of Kukri and Kukri x10 near the Omenkiller arena and upper ramparts; these offer S-scaling in Dexterity and heavy blood loss.
• Ancient Ruins of Rauh: Home to Rabbath's Greatbolt and specialized Piquebone Bolts, providing massive stopping power for heavy ballista builds.
• Limveld Encampments: Look for Weapon Racks in Lookout Towers and Wooden Boxes near spirit campfires; these are the literal primary source for randomized tools and low-level arrows in the 2026 Nightreign expansion.
• Caria Manor & Altus Tunnel: Key locations for Crystal Darts; these are a literal requirement for "short-circuiting" Golem and Imp enemies, forcing them to attack their allies.

In 2026, especially within the Nightreign expansion, you should use the Common Merchant spirit network.

Unlike base-game merchants, these spirits have linked inventories across the Limveld region, allowing you to buy the Small Pouch and bulk ammunition at one campfire and find the same restock at the next.

Additionally, save your Kukri for Malenia’s second phase or Messmer’s aerial transitions; their high travel distance and bleed buildup allow you to maintain DPS during "untouchable" boss animations.
