In Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, the Environmental Observatories are some of the most important facilities you will connect to the Chiral Network.
These hubs are responsible for monitoring the volatile weather patterns of Australia, and connecting them is the only way to unlock accurate Timefall Forecasting for their respective regions.
There are 4 Environmental Observatories in total, one for each cardinal direction of the Australian continent. Unlike standard prepper shelters, these observatories are often located in high-altitude, dangerous areas guarded by Brigands or plagued by persistent BT activity.
Reaching and connecting all four is important for unlocking advanced survival gear like the Battle Skeleton, Oxygen Mask, and the Stabilizer backpack modules.
Once an observatory is connected to the Chiral Network, your map will display the Timefall Forecast for that entire quadrant of Australia. This allows you to plan your routes to avoid the most intense storms or "Chiral Winds" that can damage your cargo and drain your battery.
If you struggle to find them, you can use the checklist below and the links leading to our Death Stranding 2 interactive map for Australia.
