Days Gone Remastered: Safe Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

The Safe in Days Gone Remastered is a single wall-mounted safe inside the Frontier Motel — the only combination-locked container in the entire game.

Finding both the safe and its combination slip earns an Attractor and a Box of Nails, two of the most useful early-game crafting materials. Both the safe location and the combination slip location are pinned on the Days Gone Remastered Oregon map.

When to Open It

The Frontier Motel is one of the first locations Deacon visits — during the early story Mission where he and Boozer look for a fuel pump for the bike.

The safe can be opened during this first visit, making the Attractor available from the very start of the game.

Players who miss it can return at any time; the Frontier Motel remains accessible throughout the campaign and post-game.

Where the Safe and Its Combination Are

• The Safe — behind the front desk in the building with the bright blue roof, south of the motel's garage and gas station. The front desk room is on the western side of the building, across from a Freaker nest. The safe is mounted on the wall and prompts for a combination on interaction.

• The Combination — closer than most players expect. Go through the door on the same wall as the safe into the room directly behind. Inside, a dresser with an open drawer sits beside a window facing west toward the gas station. The combination is a small paper slip inside that drawer — easy to overlook since it has no glow or collectible icon from a distance.

What You Get

Opening the safe rewards an Attractor and a Box of Nails — both direct inputs for Crafting Recipes.

Attractors craft throwable Attractor Bombs that draw Freakers to a point before detonating, an indispensable tool for both Horde management and escaping ambushes.

Getting them for free from the safe, rather than scavenging or buying components separately, makes the Frontier Motel one of the best early detours in the game.
