Blades Of Fire: Polearms Seneschal Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Polearms Seneschal Statues in Blades of Fire unlock parts for the game's heaviest, slowest, and hardest-hitting weapon family — weapons the official in-game lore describes as "carving a circle of dominance on the battlefield," devastating at the cost of speed and parry recovery.

There are 12 Polearm Seneschals spread across 9 regions, from Besacarr Hamlet to The Royal Palace, and we have added them to our Blades of Fire wiki-style interactive maps.

Five Polearms and How to Unlock Each

All five Forge Scrolls are earned by defeating specific enemies — none are found in chests. Adso must be present for kills to register:

  • Hyssop — automatic unlock during the prologue forge tutorial. Aran's starting weapon and the first Polearm most Seneschals can be presented with. Delivers devastating Blunt damage at the cost of high stamina drain — effective against armoured enemies but bounces harmlessly off massive ones.

  • War Axe — defeat 20 Elementals in Besacarr Hamlet. A shorter Polearm (maximum 60") with strong Slashing and Piercing capability and light characteristics improving stamina and dodge recovery — the most versatile of the five for aggressive combat.

  • War Pick — defeat 30 Spore Brutes in Kar-Lethel Swamp. Top-heavy and built for Piercing strikes with reinforced blocking — optimal for enemies with heavy frontal armour that deflect Blunt attacks.

  • Warhammer — defeat Mayhem Warmongers in Besacarr Hamlet and the Hollow Plain. Two Warmongers in Besacarr carry gate keys and don't respawn, but one in the Hollow Plain camp to the northeast does — rest at the Troll River Anvil to respawn it for farming. Delivers both Blunt and Piercing styles, making it one of the most tactically flexible Polearms.

  • Great Axe — defeat King Ashkhanar three times across the campaign, with his first encounter in Doyen Graves. The hardest Polearm to unlock by a substantial margin — Ashkhanar is an optional elite boss fought in specific locations and requires tracking across three separate encounters. Full details in the Boss guide.

Maximum Reach Is the Priority

When forging any Polearm, reach should be the primary build consideration — the longest shaft available for that weapon provides both extra damage and the safe spacing needed to land hits on Thalmudak and other large bosses without entering their attack range.

The 80" Hyssop Shaft — rewarded by the Crimson Fort Seneschal — is one of the longest single parts in the entire Polearm family and should be prioritised early.
