Blades Of Fire: Greatswords Seneschal Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Heavy, sweeping, and built to break enemy momentum — Greatswords are Blades of Fire's weapon family for players who want every strike to count.

There are 17 Greatswords Seneschals spread across 10 regions, unlocking parts for five distinct blades. All of them can be tracked on our Blades of Fire interactive regional maps.

Five Greatswords and How to Unlock Each

All five Forge Scrolls are earned by defeating specific enemy types — none are found in chests. Full details and optimal farming spots are in the Forge Scroll guide:

• Claymore — 60 Putrids. Best farmed south of the Kar-Lethel Wall Forger's Anvil in the Hollow Plain, where large groups cluster near the large gate. The Claymore's balanced offence and block make it the most versatile starting point for the Greatsword family.

• Trollslayer — 5 Trolls. The most restrictive unlock in the Greatsword family — Trolls are unique spawns that don't respawn once killed. There are exactly 5 Trolls in the game, so every kill counts. The first is near the Troll River Forger's Anvil in Besacarr Hamlet.

• Flamberge — 60 Vexers. Found in the Hollow Plain and Kar-Lethel Swamp. The Flamberge's flamed blade and ricasso enhance both Block and Parry, making it the most defensively capable Greatsword.

• Great Falx — 10 Grilled Putrids. Encountered near the Cellar Forger's Anvil in The Crimson Fort, with more available in Doyen Graves. The Great Falx's bottom-heavy design preserves stamina and aids parrying.

• Eastern Greatsword — 3 Shunned Templars. Only found in The Iron Castle — the fastest Greatsword unlock in the family thanks to the low threshold, but entirely inaccessible until that region is reached.

Why Greatswords Work: Destabilisation

Every Greatsword attack is built around the same principle: slow, unstoppable strikes that destabilise any foe, staggering enemies before they can retaliate.

This makes them the go-to weapon type against the Matriarch, armoured Trolls, and any boss whose poise needs breaking.

The trade-off is stamina cost and limited mobility — Greatsword players must commit to every swing.

• Besacarr Hamlet — Claymore Big Guard, in the clearing behind a house
• Kar-Lethel Swamp — Trollslayer Flamed Head, inside the structure reached by climbing the Automaton's arm
• The Crimson Fort — Claymore Big Pommel, on the balcony of the second tower (follow the Little One)
• Doyen Graves (×3) — 72" Claymore Blade behind the locked gate; plus two more at the river end and lower bridge ledge
• The Iron Castle — Light Rune required; climb the outer gate ladder
• Belitara's Witchwood — accessible through the Iron Castle, Light Rune required
• Watchtower Domain (×2) — Trollslayer Big Pommel at the upper cliff; Trollslayer Spiked Blade at the lower tower balcony
• The City of Curved Stones — Flamberge Big Pommel, behind a rock before the abbey bridge
• Southern Hiss City (×2) — 72" Flamberge Blade inside a cage (get hit by three green orbs to open it); second Seneschal requires obtaining the Gold Bell from King's Bastion, then disabling a turret with a perfect parry within a 15-second window
• The Roggs Mountains (×2) — next to a bridge and anvil; second inside an elevator-shaft cave
• The Egion's Abbey — 64" Great Falx Blade in the catacombs, next to a casket to close
• The Royal Palace (×2) — banquet hall behind the Queen's table; second behind an elevator cage
