Blades Of Fire: Dye Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Aran de Lira cuts an imposing figure — until he doesn't, because the default armour colour is deeply uninspiring. Dyes fix that.

There are 16 hidden across the campaign, each one sitting in a chest tucked into a corner, behind a locked door, or past a gating requirement that sends most players back empty-handed on the first visit.

They change nothing about how Aran fights, but collecting all 16 counts toward 100% completion.

All 16 are marked on MapMaster's Blades of Fire world maps. Swap between collected colours at any time via the Attire tab at a Forger's Anvil — the change is instant and free.

Nothing Is Permanently Missable

Skip a chest now, come back later — after completing the main story, Forger's Oracles activate in every region and mark every remaining collectible chest on the map with a gold icon.

Full post-game free-roam means any missed Dye can be retrieved without restarting, regardless of how late in the campaign it was overlooked.

Three Dyes With Specific Prerequisites

• Roots Dye (The Iron Castle) — locked door, requires the Soul Rune. Visit during clean-up if the Rune hasn't been obtained yet.

• Thicket Dye (The Roggs Mountains) — the hardest chest in the Dye guide. Requires the Karamuth (Chapter 4 flying mount), the Light Rune, and a Charged Hurmuz's Awakened Amulet all at once. Fly to the northwest mountain perch, charge the amulet on nearby Forger Sentinels, activate the Hurmuz Statue to open the path, and navigate into the lit cavern.

• Wooden Dye (The Egion's Abbey) — the last Dye collected in almost every playthrough. The abbey's library only opens after obtaining all 13 Fragmented Tablets from Nerea's Statues. The chest is immediately inside — but the door won't budge until the tablet count is complete.

One Boss Unlock Required

Rock Dye (Kar-Lethel Swamp) is inaccessible until Vhoroo is defeated, after which a new tunnel opens. Climb down the rope near the torch inside and follow the path northeast to a two-chest room.
