Glistening Red Mercury is the third XP consumable tier in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers — a death-safe item spanning the late Chapter 2 and early Chapter 3 transition between Cloudspire and Mt. Zhenwu.

Where Glistening Red Mercury Sits in the Tier System

Six Red Mercury consumable tiers run from Chapter 1 through Chapter 5 — all death-safe in inventory:

• Budding Red Mercury — ~100–400 XP, Chapter 1
• Growing Red Mercury — Chapter 2 early
• Glistening Red Mercury — Chapter 2 late through Chapter 3 (Snowfall Palace → Zhenwu Antechamber)
• Full-Grown Red Mercury — Chapter 2–3 transition
• Flawless Red Mercury — Chapter 3–4
• Crystalized Red Mercury — ~2,750 XP, Chapter 3–5

Glistening Red Mercury was also one of two pre-order bonus items — alongside Full-Grown Red Mercury — claimable from the Donation Box at Reverent Temple from the start of the game.

Both items combined yield approximately 14,000 Red Mercury total, enough to advance from Level 1 to Level 14 in a single session.

Consuming Glistening Red Mercury while Maddening Incense is active — the Bo Blood-powered upgrade granting 20% bonus Red Mercury at 90% Madness — raises the effective yield of each item.

Hold Glistening Red Mercury items until a Shrine rest to maximise each item's value if Incense is active.

The Avian Marsh Cluster: Five Pickups and the Best Mid-Game Farm

Avian Marsh holds 5 Glistening Red Mercury entries — the most of any single area in this guide. The area is simultaneously the best mid-game Red Mercury farming location in the game (optimal for levels 40–70): giant clams drop approximately 3,000 Red Mercury each, flag-bearing enemies drop ~1,000, and smaller enemies drop ~600 per kill.

Players running the Avian Marsh farming loop will collect all 5 world pickups naturally during their first full sweep — no dedicated collectible run required.

Note: Avian Marsh has a looping layout that can disorient players mid-run. If the path back to the Shrine is lost, use a Feather Pearl consumable to teleport back instantly at no Red Mercury cost.

Two Hazard Entries

Poisoned jars at Shaft Entrance — one entry sits at the edge of the tunnel behind a row of poisoned jar enemies. Destroy the jars from range before approaching, or sprint through the line and collect the item before status builds to a damaging threshold.

Blood pool at Bride's Boudoir — one entry sits in the blood pool by the bridge. The pool may apply Corruption build-up on contact — cross quickly and collect before the status triggers.

The Scaffolding Drop at Battlefield Pass

One of the two Battlefield Pass entries requires specific navigation: the pickup is on scaffolding fixed to the outer wall — not reachable from below.

Reach it by going around the shack on the wall, then dropping down from above onto the scaffolding platform. The other Battlefield Pass entry is straightforwardly on the ground in front of the Tombstone.

Avian Marsh — 5 locations: behind pots on the cave path, in front of a large pot behind a clam, in the middle of the tree house, on the right side of the path around the large tree, and next to a corpse in the lower area after dropping from the point marked on the interactive map.

Zhenwu Antechamber — 3 locations: next to the soldier at the end of the balcony, on a desk on the wooden platform, and on a desk at the bottom of the stairs.

Battlefield Pass — 2 locations: on the ground in front of the Tombstone, and on the scaffolding reached by dropping from the wall above.
