What Are Empty Bottles Used For in Resident Evil Requiem?

Empty Bottles have three distinct uses. As crafting containers, they combine with Infected Blood to make Molotov Cocktails (60x Infected Blood) and Bottles of Acid (using Anthony Richardson's custom Blood Collector recipe in the ARK).

As distraction tools, throwing an empty bottle at any hard surface creates noise that draws nearby enemies to the impact point — allowing Grace to slip past rooms without engaging or expending ammunition.

Bottle of Acid vs Molotov Cocktail: Which to Craft?

Both use one Empty Bottle as the container, but their applications differ. Molotovs are your standard crowd control — effective on most enemies, great for slowing The Girl and clearing groups.

Bottles of Acid deal significant damage to Lickers, which are the primary threat in the ARK's Bioweapon Repositories.

The Acid recipe requires Anthony Richardson's custom Blood Collector, which means it only becomes available once you reach the ARK and collect that document from the Monitor Control Room.

Prioritise Molotovs in the Care Center and shift toward Acid Bottles once you enter the ARK.

Note: pre-crafted Bottles of Acid can also be found directly in the ARK — in Chemical Storage, the Monitor Control Room, and the Bioweapon Repository 05 Walkway — reducing how many you need to craft.

The Dining Room Bottle: Hold It for the Internal Dispute Trophy

The Empty Bottle on the shelf in the Care Center Dining Room has a specific trophy function.

Keep it in your inventory without using it and throw it to make one zombie attack another zombie in the hospital wards to unlock the "Internal Dispute" trophy.

This is a missable, one-per-playthrough interaction — if you use the Dining Room bottle for a Molotov or distraction before the trophy trigger, you lose the opportunity for that run.

The Nurses' Station Antechamber Bottle: Get It First

The Empty Bottle on the ground in the Nurses' Station Antechamber should be your first pickup when you reach the Care Center.

The Girl can destroy this bottle by walking over it. If The Girl moves through that corridor before you collect it, the bottle is gone.

Pick it up immediately on entering that area — do not explore other rooms first.

Access-Gated Bottles: Two You Can't Get Immediately

The Boiler Room bottle requires two steps before it becomes accessible: go through the Fence Hole, then interrupt the electricity.

Attempting to enter the Boiler Room before both steps are complete will leave the bottle out of reach. A second Care Center bottle, found on a table, can only be collected after obtaining the Lighter.

Neither appears accessible on first approach — the checklist entries for both flag their specific unlock conditions.
