Forza Horizon 5 PlayStation: History of Speed Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Hot Wheels: A History of Speed in Forza Horizon 5 is the five-chapter Horizon Story exclusive to the Hot Wheels Park DLC — a tour through the real history of Hot Wheels as a brand, from its 1968 founding to today, told through five distinct driving challenges across three different challenge formats.

All 5 A History of Speed chapter locations are included on Map Master's FH5 Horizon Hot Wheels Park interactive map.

Two Trophies, Two Thresholds

• "Major in Hot Wheels History" (Bronze) — complete all 5 chapters. Finishing each chapter at any star level counts — no 3-star requirement for this trophy.

• "Professor of Hot Wheels History" (Bronze) — earn 3 Stars in every chapter. Each chapter has its own 3-star threshold, and each contains multiple driving segments where only specific sections are scored.

If a 3-star target is missed mid-chapter, restart immediately at the checkpoint rather than continuing — replaying the unscored intro segments wastes time, and replaying only the scored section is faster.

Three Challenge Types Across Five Chapters

History of Speed is unique among Horizon Stories in using three completely different scoring systems across its chapters:

Time-based chapters (3): the majority of chapters score how quickly a section is completed.

• The Beginning — 3 Stars: 2:40
• The Snake & The Mongoose — 3 Stars: 1:20 (tightest time target)
• Hot Wheels Today — 3 Stars: 2:20

Distance-based chapter (1): a single massive jump scored by airborne distance — effectively a Danger Sign challenge embedded in a story chapter.

• The Iconic Orange Track — 3 Stars: 1,198 FT / 365.1 M

Score-based chapter (1): a treasure hunt through the park where collectible items must be gathered for score.

• Treasure Hunting — 3 Stars: 25 items collected

Chapters unlock as Hot Wheels Academy ranks advance through the Exhibition Event Qualifier system:

• Rookie Rank → Chapters 1 (The Beginning) and 2 (The Iconic Orange Track) unlock
• Pro Rank → Chapter 3 (The Snake & The Mongoose) unlocks
• Expert Rank → Chapters 4 (Treasure Hunting) and 5 (Hot Wheels Today) unlock
