Elden Ring: Stake of Marika Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide
As the essential anchor for jumping back into the action after a tough loss, the Elden Ring Stake of Marika is a must-have feature for any explorer.
These small statues found right before big bosses or deep in the Nightreign expansion are the only way to skip long run-backs and get right back to the fight.
How to Use the Stake of Marika
You don't need to touch or activate these statues. If you die within the range of one, you will see a menu option to "Resurrect at the Stake of Marika."
The Icon: When you are near a stake, a small golden status icon appears on the left side of your screen.
The Limit: You cannot change your spells or level up at a stake. It is a basic tool meant only for quick restarts.
Important Overworld Stakes
Most major field bosses have a stake nearby, so you don't have to travel far:
Limgrave: Found right outside the Flying Dragon Agheel lake and the Tree Sentinel path.
Caelid: A life-saving stake is placed near Decaying Ekzykes to help with the rot-heavy fight.
Altus Plateau: Located near the Draconic Tree Sentinel to make the capital entrance easier.
Mountaintops: Found near the Fire Giant entrance—a top choice for players who struggle with the boss's massive health pool.
2026 Nightreign: Limveld Shifting Stakes
The 2026 Elden Ring Nightreign update introduces "Shifting Stakes" in the Limveld area, which change based on "Shifting Earth" events.
Limveld Locations: During a Nightreign Storm, some stakes in the Forsaken Hollows will vanish. Finding the stable ones at the Great Church is a vital part of surviving the expansion.
The Scholar's Eye: Players using the Scholar class can see a faint glow where a stake will appear before the earth shifts. This is a huge help for planning difficult boss attempts.
Nightreign Castle Sewers: Unlike the base game, the randomized sewers usually do not have stakes. This makes finding a rare Site of Grace or a shortcut plate even more important.
Right now, the smartest way to use these in Nightreign is to check your status bar before a fight starts.
If the icon isn't there, you are in for a long walk. A good strategy for 2026 is to use the Spectral Hawk Tree to scout the area; often, a stake is hidden just behind a ruin or a rock wall that you can't see from the ground.
