Elden Ring: Landmark Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

In Elden Ring, a landmark is the navigational anchor of your journey, and the primary visual reference point in a world without traditional map markers.

Landmark Locations—spanning the golden heights of the Erdtree to the shifting, randomized strongholds of the Nightreign Castle—serve as barriers to regional progression, legacy dungeons, and the world’s most significant Great Rune rewards.

These sites are the pillars of the world-state and are visible from almost any point within their respective regions:

  • The Erdtree (Altus Plateau): The heart of the Lands Between. It serves as your primary compass; if the tree is to your left, you are heading North toward the Mountaintops.
  • Stormveil Castle (Limgrave): The gateway to the open world. It is the boundary that separates the early-game tutorial zones from the mid-game complexity of Liurnia.
  • Raya Lucaria Academy (Liurnia): The center of sorcery, appearing as a towering blue spire in the center of the lake.
  • The Scadutree (Realm of Shadow): The shadow of the Erdtree, acting as the primary landmark for navigating the vertical, layered terrain of the DLC.

The 2026 Nightreign expansion introduces dynamic landmarks that change based on "Shifting Earth" events:

  • Nightreign Castle (Central Limveld): The central stronghold of the expansion. Unlike base-game castles, this landmark has 40 map patterns, appearing in variants like the Banished Knight Castle or Troll Castle, each containing randomized treasure chests and boss spawns.
  • Spectral Hawk Trees: These are the traversal nodes of Limveld. Recognizable by their ethereal blue glow, they allow for fast, automated flight across large portions of the map, connecting otherwise unreachable regional waypoints.
  • Great Churches: Rarer than standard churches, these landmarks (like the Great Church settlement) house underground sewers and boss rooms that award the Choice of Talisman chest.

In 2026, your primary focus should be the Noklateo, the Shrouded City landmark during a "Shifting Earth" event.

While active, this landmark provides an auto-revive mechanic upon death, making it the most efficient time to clear the surrounding Evergaol challenges.

Additionally, if you are lost in the Great Hollows (a temporary 2026 map), follow the Great Crystal in the center; resonating with the four peripheral crystals will shatter the central landmark, unlocking the Favor of the Great Hollow buff to break the region's crystal curse.

To help you pinpoint every spire and tower, we have pinned every major and minor landmark on our Elden Ring complete interactive world atlas.
