Cronos: The New Dawn: Essence Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide
Essences are the souls of key individuals extracted by the Traveler in Cronos: The New Dawn. When equipped in your Phylactery, these Essences provide powerful passive buffs that can fundamentally change your combat efficiency or resource gathering.
There are a total of 8 Essences in the game. While 3 are obtained automatically through story progression, the other 5 belong to Fallen Travelers hidden throughout the world.
Your suit can only hold a maximum of 3 Essences at any time. It is also important to know that:
- Extraction is Permanent: To claim a new Essence when your Phylactery is full, you must permanently delete one of your currently held Essences.
- No Hot-Swapping: Unlike traditional gear, you cannot simply swap Essences from a menu. Once an Essence is deleted to make room for another, it is gone for that playthrough.
- Trophy Requirement: You must gather the Essences of Lidia, Marcel, and Krzysztof Marzec simultaneously to unlock the "Togetherness" achievement/trophy.
While the story-related Essences are unmissable, the Fallen Travelers are often hidden behind environmental puzzles or locked doors requiring the Bolt Cutters. To locate these survivors and optimize your build, we have marked all of them on our interactive game maps for Cronos: The New Dawn.
