Assassin's Creed Shadows: Kakurega Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Kakurega in Assassin's Creed Shadows are the 79 shinobi safehouses that form Naoe and Yasuke's operational network across feudal Japan and Awaji Island — each one a fast travel point, seasonal contract board, and Scout resupply station.

Unlocking the Network: Main Kakurega First


The network begins in Act 1 with the Lost Hills Kakurega — the main Kakurega building constructed at the Hideout during the "From Spark to Flame" quest. This central hub is the anchor for the entire safehouse system and must be upgraded progressively to unlock the full network.


The first three purchasable Kakurega — Sakai, Katano, and Osaka — become available immediately after completing "From Spark to Flame" for 800 Mon each.


Three Upgrade Levels: What Each Unlocks


Level 1 — acquire the first Scout. All purchased Kakurega grant fast travel, access to seasonal contracts, and resupply of tools and ammunition.


Level 2 — Kakurega begin offering seasonal provincial rumors that reveal the locations of all collectibles, unique treasures, and activities in their surrounding region. Scouts can also be assigned from Kakurega to clear Regional Alerts.


Level 3 — the most important upgrade: reveals all 79 Kakurega on the map (for any region where fog of war has been cleared), unlocks additional Kakurega locations that aren't available until this level, and reduces the Mon cost of every Kakurega purchase by 30%.

What Every Kakurega Does


Once purchased, each Kakurega provides four functions accessible from any safehouse in the network: fast travel to that location, a seasonal contract board offering resource and material rewards, Scout resupply (Scouts used for resource smuggling at Enemy Camps cost 200 Mon each to refill), and tool and ammunition restocking for both Naoe and Yasuke.


Cost Breakdown Across the Network


Town and city Kakurega cost 560 Mon each — the most affordable tier, covering major settlements. Wilderness and remote Kakurega cost 665 Mon each — these include the forest and mountain safehouses that extend the network into less populated terrain.


The three earliest Kakurega (Sakai, Katano, Osaka) cost 800 Mon and are unlocked through the "From Spark to Flame" quest.


With the Level 3 upgrade's 30% discount, these costs reduce to approximately 392, 466, and 560 Mon respectively.


Awaji Island: Four Kakurega


The Awaji Island DLC adds four Kakurega outside the base Japan network — Yura (south of Yura Castle), Izanagi (connected to the "A Snake in the Shrine" quest), Fukura (follow the road west), and Sumoto (available only after completing "The Reunion" quest).


Each costs 665 Mon and carries the same fast travel and contract functions as Japan Kakurega.


The "Would You Kindly?" Trophy


"Would You Kindly?" — purchase at least one Kakurega in every region of Japan AND complete a contract from the board at that Kakurega.


Both conditions per region must be met. The fastest route is building the Lost Hills Kakurega to Level 3 first, using the revealed map to plan a single efficient sweep that purchases one Kakurega per region and completes one contract at each before moving on.


Several Hidden Trail Assassin Outposts share their location with regional Kakurega — the Path of the Blade (Omi) and Path of Secrets (Yamato) both lead directly to Kakurega network safe houses, making their combined exploration especially efficient.

Once you cross the bridge, veer onto the left-hand path and follow it up and around to discover the Kakurega.

The Uji Tawara Kakurega can be unlocked for 560 Mon. It allows you to fast-travel, complete contracts, and refill your scouts and supplies. The Kakurega is found on top of a hill in the rice plantation.

Osaka KakuregaJapan

The Sakai Kakurega can be unlocked for 800 Mon. It allows you to fast travel, complete contracts, and refill your scouts and supplies.

Southern Kyoto KakuregaJapan

The Southern Kyoto Kakurega can be unlocked for 560 Mon. It allows you to fast travel, complete contracts, and refill your scouts and supplies.

Takatsuki KakuregaJapan

The Takatsuki Kakurega can be unlocked for 560 Mon. It allows you to fast travel, complete contracts, and refill your scouts and supplies.

Muggy Lands KakuregaJapan

The Muggy Lands Kakurega is found southwest of Takatsuki Castle and can be unlocked for 665 Mon. It allows you to fast travel, complete contracts, and refill your scouts and supplies.

Senri Hills KakuregaJapan

The Senri Hills Kakurega can be unlocked for 665 Mon. Although it's only a tent by a pond, it allows you to fast travel, complete contracts, and refill your scouts and supplies.

Amagasaki KakuregaJapan

Amagasaki Kakurega can be unlocked for 560 Mon and it is located across the street from The Lumber Aisle. It allows you to fast travel, complete contracts, and refill your scouts and supplies.
