Assassin's Creed Shadows: Jizo Statue Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Jizo Statues in Assassin's Creed Shadows are the 69 stone guardian figures placed at crossroads throughout Japan — small Buddhist shrines dedicated to Jizō Bosatsu, the protector of travelers, children, and souls.

Each one rewards 50 XP on a single free offering, totalling 3,450 XP across all 69 (or 3,795 XP with the Tera building at the Hideout).

They are the focal point of the "Mayu's Offerings" side quest and carry a romance outcome. All 69 locations are included on our Assassin's Creed Shadows Japan map.

Mayu's Offerings: How to Start and Complete It

Starting the quest

Speak to Mayu in the settlement of Gose, in eastern Yamato (south of Asuke Rocks Basin — head south on the main road through Ando). She wears all white and stands directly in front of a Jizo Statue. She asks both protagonists to honour every Jizo Statue across Japan and promises a reward on completion.

Mayu sends word that she is "expecting you." Return to her at Gose for a story conversation. Dialogue choices here affect the romance option available at the end — choose responses that show care and understanding rather than dismissal.

Return to Mayu one final time. To trigger the romance cutscene and kiss, choose "I learned to follow my own intuition" followed by "Not before I kiss you."

The quest closes with three outdoor Hideout cosmetic Jizo Statues as the final reward — a standard guardian figure, one with a palm raised to calm travelers, and one holding the Shuni Mudra gesture of patience.

Jizo vs Praying Shrine: Not the Same Thing

Jizo Statues give only XP — no temporary stat boosts, no gear, no Knowledge Points. Praying Shrines are a completely different category: they grant temporary buffs (armor penetration, health, attack power) that reset over time.

Shrines are a third category contributing Knowledge Points. The three categories share a spiritual theme but serve entirely different mechanical purposes.

How They Appear on the Map

Jizo Statues use white icons — not the standard orange or white "?" markers used by most activities. They only appear on the map after Naoe or Yasuke gets close enough to discover them.

To filter for Jizo Statues specifically on the map, press D-pad Down to cycle through activity filters.

Without Map Master, tracking which of the 69 have been collected requires relying entirely on this filtered map view.

Regional Distribution

Omi leads with 11 statues — the most of any province. Wakasa and Kii follow with 10 each, making the northern and southern coasts the densest sweeping grounds.

Izumi Settsu has 8, Harima and Tamba each have 7, Yamashiro and Yamato each have 6, and Iga has only 3 — the smallest contribution of any province.

Most statues sit directly at road crossroads, and a small number are placed beside bridges or under trees near the road.

One specific note from the guide: the Mibuno Vale Jizo Statue is near the Ornament Vendor in that area — useful for combining a vendor visit and a statue offering in one stop.
